The band's self-titled, souble disc EP features funky beats and synths mixed with explosive guitars that catapult the listener onto a wave of nostalgia. GMG recently located to Brooklyn [and Queens] where it has wowed NYC audiences with its brand of electro-textured pop that guarantees uncrossed arms and smiles galore. "Valentine's Day" recalls the Postal Service, but with more oomph as Steve Roessner presides over the drums. But simplicity be damned as GMG span across a range of genres: Jillian Cimini (guitar/keys/vocals) shimmers as she channels the Cardigans' Nina Perrson, and when her voice joins Keyes' the resulting harmony brings to mind Canadian pop/dance group LEN.
