About Me

Who is Quncy LeNear?

As an actor Quincy recently worked with director Spike Lee, in the Microsoft mini-film, Secret Agent Man, portraying Spike's personal assistant. He won a recurring role on the Fox family drama "Get Real" (now cancelled LOL). Currently he can be seen in the film Delivering Milo (HBO on Demand) starring Bridget Fonda, Albert Finney, Anton Yelchin, Alison Lohman, and John Cho. Quincy's face is most recognized as The Guy in the "Up Late with The King" Burger King commercial.

My Abridged Acting Reel (a few things missing)BK Up Late With The King 2005 Quincy LeNear later launched a clothing line that would again garner national attention, The Little QTs (The Yoga Babies) with actress Marquita Terry (of General Hospital & USA High fame). The Little QTs quickly became a hot item among the who's who of Hollywood.

Little QTs mania was quickly covered by Jilliane Barberie & Good Day L.A, Good Day Live, USA Today, E, Fox & CBS News... Little QTs also helped benefit CoachArt; helping terminally ill children through the arts.

Quincy and partner/life-partner Deondray Gossett (of Sister Act II & On the Low fame), wrote and directed the popular film anthology The DL Chronicles... currently screening. The DL Chronicles has made a splash across the United States and Europe. Quincy & partner, Deondray Gossett, received a Certificate of Honor from the City of San Francisco, for Outstanding Contribution to the African American GLBT community abroad. They won Best Short Film at the 2006 Oakland Intl Black LGBT Film Festival, and an Excellence in Media Award from the Black Men's Film Conference. Quincy was featured in the Advocate Magazine, July's pride edition, among 14 other Gay & Lesbian notables, and he and his partner Deondray graced the cover of Clik Magazine's fall issue also snagging the cover story.

They have currently been nominated for the first annual Clik Elite 25 Award recognizing 25 stellar African American LGBT individuals across the US for their contributions to the arts, sports, and service to the community - to be broadcast nationally on the LOGO network. Meanwhile, The DL Chronicles, is slated to premier nationally in the Spring of 2007. Stay tuned!

I am a hard individual because I have no favorites. I love music of all genres, however, I am most attracted to musicians, singers, and rappers who push the envelope and go avant garde.

I grew up in Chicago, dancing to House music in the 80's & 90's. House music is one of my loves.

I also come from a family of musicians and singers on my father's side. The late Johnnie Taylor is my granddad's first cousin. I am the great great nephew of Jack Owens, who is credited as the creator of the Bentonia Blues. And the Hip Hop queen, Dana Owens (Latifah) is reported to be a member of the same Owens family.

My mom owned a club in Chicago, which had live Blues & Jazz. I grew up around a lot of blues & jazz of musicians.

Two of my mentors are jazz legends, Kahil El Zabaar & Malachi Thompson, both renown avante garde jazz legends. And I have performed with legends such as Lester Bowie and Marcus Belgrave.

My cousin, Chris Bruce, plays bass for Seal, and co-wrote the hit, Bring it On among others.
