Raventhrone

Dark Metal from Austria!

About Me

This is from the Record Company Homepage, too lazy to write my own bio...they're italian so please excuse the crazy grammar: RAVENTHRONE is the name of Ray's new creature ( already mind of Austrian synth gods PAZUZU ), who presents us a masterpiece of obscure musical Art. We could still call it "Black Metal", but the wonderful dreaming atmospheres of their mystic keyboards textures and the impressive medieval parts make something special out of Raventhrone's compositions, reaching an original and fascinating musical trademark. Here and there you can realise the "hidden" presence of Pazuzu's dark atmospheres behind it all, but it is absolutely stunning how Raventhrone are yet so personal and unique on all lines! Essential!"Deftone Magazine February 1998 (Demo-Band of the Month) With these words the notorious German magazine Deftone presented RAVETHRONE to the world. And this was just their first step into the musical scene in late 1997. Pazuzu's Ray on guitar, bass, vocals and programming joined by Engelmacher (vocals and programming) shortly then inked a deal with Avantgarde Music and in Spring 1998 entered Martin Schirenc's studio (of PUNGENT STENCH perverted fame...) to record their debut full length masterpiece, "Malice in Wonderland". A few advance tapes spread around by the label prior to the album's release have already given a clear idea about the big expectations and press responses towards this release. Some loved to call it " mid-european " black metal style, quoting people like Summoning and Falkenbach as a reference, but RAVENTHRONE still has much more to offer. In fact the band doesn't feel like categorizing their music under any banner and therefore let it speak on their behalf.FACTS: - RAVENTHRONE is the second creature of the mastermind of dark-gurus PAZUZU (with two albums published so far) - Produced by Martin Schirenc of PUNGENT STENCH - Demo/Band of the Month on the German magazine DEFTONE in February 98 and stunning press responses so far. - Strong promotional campaign, with adverts on the main underground medias, including Ablaze, Deftone, Eternity, Terrorizer, Grindzone, Orkus, Hard Rock, Metallian, Aardshock etc. - 500 promotional CD campaign - " Crepuscule " is featured on ABLAZE sampler CD (August issue, 16.000 copies printed) - The song "Raventhrone" (demo version) was anticipated on the nice-price sampler CD " In decay we Trust " (spread in over 5000 copies)
