The Shite Pours Out Of Me

About Me

The artist also known as hbdeath on Livejournal, and as James R (aka The JR, The Library Technician of Death, Mr Death, Gothbotherer, etc) on Black Cat Bone. Hello to anyone from BCB who may come across this.
I am also known as jgwr on the Sydney Goth Forum, where I quietly moderate a couple of sections. Fear me.
I also do keyboards, programming and the occasional vocal for Sydney electro-punk-industrial-dub act the Inflatable Voodoo Dolls, on top of which I'm working at the same time on not one but two solo projects (15-11 Enterprises and The Interzone Philharmonic Orchestra). Fear me again.
In-between all this hyperactivity, I co-present a radio show called Celluloid Dreams on 2SER.
To be honest, I've really only got this so I could be one of the Cool Kids I refused to be back in high school oh so long ago (you'll find more activity from me on Livejournal); had a rather nasty online experience back in 2001 which I don't talk about with anyone and so won't discuss here either, but as a result of same I've learned not to be as open about myself online as what some people are. Take that as a disclaimer if you like.
Note to prospective Myspace friends: I do the majority of my Myspace business now at the 15-11 Enteprises space (see top friends list below). If you're interested in friending me you're probably much better off friending 15-11 Enterprises instead of this account. Unlike some people I could name, 15-11 Enterprises is happy to consider friend requests from bands.

My Interests

Mostly revolve around films, music, books, internet, community radio, goth club-going (nearly put "goth clubbing" there but feared that might make me look like someone who enjoys clubbing people in black), that sort of thing. Used to maintain a weblog called Hot Buttered Death, but no longer, and am much better off out of that scene. As noted, I play in the Inflatable Voodoo Dolls and continue to experiment with other stuff for my other projects.

I'd like to meet:

You. You'll do nicely for my experiments.

Music:

Why not? I'll give most things a go at some point, although I am a rockist at heart. This won't win me the friendship of some people but I doubt I'd want to be friends with them anyway. Although I tend to identify as "goth", I've never seen any particular reason why a certain subcultural identification should limit me in what I choose to listen to.

Movies:

Have seen well over 3000 of the fucking things, which is probably more than you've done and is probably too many to boot. Own about a thousand of them, which is only too many when, like me, you don't really have the shelf space for all of them.

Television:

Can no longer be bothered with ongoing serial television (I would say "except for the new Doctor Who", but so far I've kept forgetting to tape the bloody thing when it's on and I'm out of the house) because frankly I don't want to be tied down to a regular routine of watching something. I use the TV mainly for watching DVDs.

Books:

Don't read nearly as many of them as I sometimes feel I should. Not that I dislike them, but other things call for my time and attention.

Heroes:

...is a much overused word. I have many people I aspire to be like for varied reasons.
