Project: Wiretapper

Giving the government something else to listen to.

About Me

Project: Wiretapper is a hard hitting, EBM/industrial project that was officially started by Nikolai the Revolutionary in April of 2006. Since then, Project: Wiretapper has gained another member, Karl Wilhelm, who plays keyboards live.
Nikolai has been into harsh electronic music since he first watched the Matrix series. Ever since then, he has sought to produce music similar to what he was exposed to. This desire was furthered by listening to bands such as Rammstein, :wumpscut:, and Das Ich, as well as a local industrial band, Synthetic Nightmare. He was in a symphonic black metal band, Throne of Ice, for over a year until he quit in June of 2006 to spend more time on Project: Wiretapper. Karl, who joined forces with Nikolai in September of 2007, is influenced mainly by the work of electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk. He has also been doing live sound for well over a decade and is a self taught keyboard player.
The objective of Project: Wiretapper is to incorporate heavy political overtones into harsh industrial music, and to transcend the music itself and become a movement to bring awareness to the masses of issues they would otherwise be oblivious to. After being held at gunpoint by the FBI and having his uncle taken away by them, Nikolai has been speaking out against the atrocities of this government through music. In turn, Project: Wiretapper is giving the government something else to listen to.
