SCREAMING TARTS

About Me

Screaming Tarts is a music based Ezine featuring interviews, reviews, photos and much more. We cover mainly Glam/Sleaze/Indie/Rock/Goth and Punk bands. We feature lots of well known acts, but most of the site is filled with smaller, less well known bands, who seem to get ignored by most of the other music press.
It all began back in the summer of 2002, when a bored student type, known as Mr Martyn, started work on a paper based fanzine called Truth And Beauty. Despite featuring interviews with Pulp and Vendetta Red, he only managed to sell around 11 copies!!
Martyn later decided that the only way his work would be seen by a wider audience was by setting up a website, so, at the start of 2003 Suicidal Trash was born. Everything on the site was written and designed by Martyn. The site featured interviews with Scarling, Aqualung, Funeral For A Friend, Mew and Million Dead amongst others.
Towards the end of that year, Martyn was reading a press release for the band Phluid, in which they were described as "Screaming Tarts". Those two words inspired not only a name change, but a complete overhaul of the site. Suicidal Trash became Screaming Tarts at the beginning of 2004 and, during that year, went on to feature interviews with bands including The Wildhearts, Dogs Die In Hot Cars, Reuben, King Adora, The Bluetones, Breed 77, The Glitterati and Do Me Bad Things.
The site was re-launched on Jan 1st 2005 at a new dot com address. Since then it has had well over 40,000 hits, around 2000 every month.
There are now a small team of people writing for the site, leaving Martyn free to deal with the day to day running of it.
Over the years we have released various compilation albums, all of which are still available to buy below... Screaming Tarts the album: Vol 4
