Which truck am I on today?

About Me

I play cornet and trumpet mainly, with a few other instruments thrown in for pepper. I'm in about ten bands with Joe Baiza (well, let's see, there's J.B.'s Congress, Scrappers, the Cardovas, and the occasional sit-in with Saccharine Trust, that's app. 3.2). I sometimes compose and lead bands, but seem to be happiest improvising with people who just like to play. I generally distrust the term "experimental" (yeah, I know, that word was stuck on my profile for a long time, it's gone now). I tend to overuse parentheses. I drive trucks full of art for a living and that's all the driving I do. Off the clock I walk/bike/busride. I prefer it to the motorcultural inferno we've made for ourselves.
What I'm listening to right now: Nothing, because I'm at the Los Angeles Public Library. Actually, I can hear faint strains of some kind of metal music coming from the kid next to me's earbuds, which I'm sure is helping him to concentrate on whatever video game he's playing. At the library. OK I'm shutting up now.
