About Me

There are so many things about my nature that have been with me since my childhood. I always liked being by myself and just observed people, the way they acted, the emotions they showed, somehow i have always had a special eye for small details, which still fascinates me more than seeing the whole picture, specially the way in which every small thing complement each other and at the end influence all the big things. I am a very reserved person and more of a listener than a talker, but it doesn’t mean i can not engage myself into a conversation if i ever feel like doing so. I don't really have any problems in expressing what i think about certain things... I just prefer to be quiet whenever i feel i have nothing to say, i am not really into talking just for talking... Silences have never ever made me feel uncomfortable, on the contrary, i think silences are good, because i believe there is so much people can tell without using any words and i find that very interesting. Even when i like people a lot, and big cities, whenever i feel i want to be just by myself i usually go for very long walks to the woods or in the mountains or get away for the weekend to anywhere there you almost can't see any people around. I have always been and still am a nature lover, i adore all kind of animals, but specially horses and wild animals. I enjoy all kinds of weather, i love the feeling of the raindrops, the wind and even the snow, in my face. I like to just sit outdoors at night and enjoy the view of the lights across the city or the stars whenever they are visible. I'd like to travel more, seeing other cultures, and try to learn at least a few words to communicate with people in their own language, i think you learn lot that way and the most important thing is that traveling helps you be tolerant to any kind of people and ideas that are not similar to our own. I don’t believe in traveling and staying at expensive hotels and eating food you are familiar with, as well as avoiding any contact with the people from the countries you are at. I prefer to get lost in the crowd and enjoy myself, the different tastes and smells, follow what the locals do, i guess i have a never ending curiosity to see how others live, and i really really hope that that curiosity will never fade.

My Interests

I love Art even though it's a shame today that a lot of artists have neglected the question of skill. The paradigm is Picasso, who said that it took him 70 years to learn to paint like a little kid :D I love Literature on condition that the novelists don't constitute a discourse of power ! I love Philosophy even though i often say to myself: "Theories.. Theories.. Theories.. It doesn't seem to work for me !"Otherwise i'm interested in what we used to call the "Humanities"... I'm not talking here only about Greek, which has sunk without a trace, in spite of the efforts of people like Marcel Detienne, whom the Collège de France carefully avoids electing because the idea of those Greek gods with knives in their hands, especially Apollo, would clash with the place's neoclassical style... By the way, the place is pretty empty now, hehe !! Masters today ? There are none left, except the linguist Clauge Hagège probably ! Anyway, our world is unfortunately like Pandora's box. Everything flew out and got away: not only Humanities but also Education in its entirety ... The only thing left at the bottom of the box is the butterfly of Hope ! Sometimes i wonder what books, what works of art, what philosophical texts can we muster in the battle against contemporary nihilism ? Could you reply ?

I'd like to meet:

Curiosity has brought me here, i don’t really have any expectations, i like all kind of people, men or women, it makes me interested in reading more about things they talk about, it can be their countries or favorite hobbies.Above all i like hearing people who ask sometimes this basic question "What am i doing here ?". That's the question of millions of displaced persons in world or else those who don't manage to find themselves in their lives... That's why i like listening and understanding the existential dilemmas of cultivated young people, with their black humour, their destabilizing virulence, their dandyism, their individualized aristocracy for whom their world seems empty of prospects. They try to be out there, despite everything, but don't manage ! Yet these teenagers are very curious about the world and want to live in an united, peaceful and democratic world ! There is no political correctness here... I don't give a damn about politic anyway !! I like them because they have an ironic relationship with world that i find very interesting ! Some people for example think, contrary to common belief, sexuality has always been a mental business, not an organic business ("Woe to those who think it is just the needs of the organism !", said to me one of them). Another one said to me some day: "Hey guy, if you want to survive in this world, it's best not to have any opinions ! We can say 'black' and 'white' at the same time because we need 'black' to see 'white' and vice versa !" :) Another said to me: "Yo man, it's better to be a virus than to get sick ! Viruses never get sick !" :D And another: "Stay a plebeian guy ! Your head may be aristocratic but your ass belong to the people... Your Love of Literature may be beautiful but is similar in that has to do with your lowest self !". Is this opinion a degenerate idea ? It's this frankness that we miss today, this faculty of saying exactly what happens rather than talking in general !

Music:

J.S. Bach, old blues, fólksongs, metal...In fact, i like almost every kind of music. I don’t really stick to just one type, i go mostly for the way it makes me feel, the kind of mood i am in, but if i have to describe the type, most of the music i own and listen to, are songs with lyrics that really tell you something.

Movies:

I love every movie with John Malkovich and the ones by Krzysztof Kieślowski, Charlie Chaplin, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Andreï Tarkovsky, Marcel Carné, François Truffaut, Jean-Luc Godard, Eric Rohmer, Robert Bresson, Fritz Lang, Frederico Fellini, Luis Buñuel, John Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, Clint Eastwood, David Lynch, Aki Olavi Kaurismäki, Lars Von Trier, Wim Wenders, Pedro Almodóvar

Books:
