Is he street? Is he club? Is he hate? Is he love? Born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh, PA's Allentown section, J.James came into the world with a verse in his head and a pen in his hand. The music is in his blood. It's in his nature. And there's no mistaking his sound.
Growing up heavily exposed to blues, soul, classic rock, and rap, he has blended these styles and created his own original brand of urban music. And even though you won't hear him talking about guns, hustling, or 24's, his music is as real as it gets. Who else can melt a female and melt a mic at the SAME TIME? So don't get it twisted when you hear him sing a smooth chorus--because you can believe that a wicked flow is always nearby. It's a unique mix of styles that came natural to him when he started recording back at the age of 14.
"Back then it was just two tape recorders with a built-in mic," explains James. Since then he's rocked plenty of parties and talent shows, and sold hundreds of self-recorded cds.
And now, driven by his desire, his dream, and his following, he has released his debut studio album, THIN LINE. Collaborating with one of Pittsburgh's top producers, Chris "Mindbender" Longo, (who has worked with Lil' Flip, MC Eiht, Stat Quo, and currently CRAVE), this album will touch all demographics.
Call him an artist on the edge. Maybe even a bit moody. But he calls it like he sees it. J.James doesn't make the rules... he just walks along the thin line that we call life.
