About Me

Born in Spanish Harlem and raised in The Bronx, singer and actor Christopher Gabriel Estrada has always had a passion for entertaining. Having come from a very talented family (his great grandmother was a singer from Puerto Rico and his grandfather was a musician in a Salsa Band), Christopher always had music running through his veins. In middle school and high school, Christopher trained his voice while singing in various school chorus's, and by doing plays and musicals.
As a teenager, Christopher gained interest in writing poetry and song lyrics as a form of self expression. Many of his teen years were spent writing songs with the talented musicians he befriended along the way. His love for the stage truly developed in 2003 when he won a lead role in the Cardinal Hayes production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Christopher's portrayal of Caiaphas received rave reviews, mainly because of his strong, and unique bass/baritone voice.
After his stage debut, at age 16 Christopher would enter the Recording Studio for the first time to start work on a demo, and experience recording music in a professional setting from 2004-2005. Although these sessions would never produce a final demo, Christopher continued to hone his writing and singing abilities. After ending his demo session, Christopher decided to explore the world of screen acting, and has appeared in various television shows such as Chain Reaction, Law & Order, CSI:New York, and The Sopranos. Christopher gained experience in singing in various restaurants and Karaoke clubs throughout New York City, learning to entertain the crowd and become a skilled live vocalist. Christopher has experience singing in almost all genres, from pop, to rock, from salsa to R&B. He is a versatile vocalist who's musical influences span across the board.
2008 marked a milestone in Christopher Estrada's career. In May he returned to his theater roots in Nilo Cruz's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna In The Tropics, as Palomo, proving to audiences that he is not only a singer, but talented actor as well. After Anna In The Tropics Christopher Estrada continued to conquer new territories in acting. He signed on to play Raymond in Louie Noriega's independent film Masked.
In December of 2008 Christopher's portrayal of Walter "Rooftop" Desmond stunned audiences in the Stephen Adly Guirgus play Our Lady Of 121st directed by Stephanie Stowe at Lehman College. Audiences were impressed and responded to Christopher's talent on stage. He truly became Rooftop. When people saw the show, they did not see Christopher Estrada, they saw Rooftop. It was a true testament to his depth, dedication and drive as an actor.
Christopher Estrada was cast as Agwe in the Lehman College production of Once On This Island set for the Spring of 2009, however he dropped the role a few weeks into rehearsal for personal reasons.
There are huge things planned for Christopher Estrada in 2009. He is currently working on new music, and is looking for live musicians to perfrom gigs throughout the city. He is currently in the production stage of an independant documentary about his growth as an independant, underground artist trying to make it in the industry.
Christopher is currently releasing new songs and is looking to network and connect with other talented and hard-working musicians, producers, actors, writers, and vocalists who share similar artistic vision and goals.
