BIO
Chris “White Boy†Riley is a study of contrasts, the product of a stormy interracial union. From the Ill-town streets of Rockford, Illinois, young Chris had to deal with the realities. Being half this and half that, light, white with a fly-away afro. The pain, suffering, and loneliness that comes from being that street boy from around the way, Chris took a ghetto nickname that could have wrecked havoc on his life and instead made it his battle armor. Being one of the millions of young street kids that learns how to survive on his own, “White Boy†became his personal badge of honor for who and what he was and where he came from. He was born, and inherited the title from the streets.
Just as any young kid growing up in the streets Chris had dreams, of one day becoming a rapper. To stand along some of the greats he looked up to for so long. His dreams started to come true. This Chicago rapper began garnering awards for Best New Entertainer, and Best Teen Talent at the 23rd Annual Chicago Music Awards and the Biggie and 2PAC Best Lyricist Award at the Chicago Truth Hip-Hop Awards. He started a relationship with Chicago’s Icee Records. Times could not have been better at this time in Chris’s life. Dreams were starting to become a reality for this young rapper.
During this time White Boy had the opportunity to tour with many acts including Twista in 2005-2006 on his U.S tours. He began sharing the stage with acts such as Ludacris, Lil Scrappy, Akon, Lyfe Jennings, John Legend, Young Buck and many more. The first album “No Grey Area†sold over 20,000 with little to no distribution and yet Chris was looking at the bigger picture. This lead Chris to start thinking of what the future held for him. As his relationship with Icee Records was slowly coming to an end after many trials and tribulations with trying to further Chris’s career, he felt it was as good a time as any to change things up and introduce people to Chris Wyte.
CHRIS WYTE
It was time to put White Boy to bed and share with anyone the real person behind the name White Boy. Chris began working on his mix-tape “Somethin 2 Prove†which brought the life experiences from the streets and the industry into his music. More focused than ever he began writing music that his fans loved so much on his first album. However, this time brought in more of The New Chris Wyte. The album will bring a more grown look into the life of Chris Wyte (aka White Boy). "I want people to get to know who I really am. I more than just kid who won a contest. “I write music that comes from my heart and soul no matter if that’s club, street or commercial, I make music to tell a story of where I have been, what I love, and where I am going.â€
