Yes, this was, exclusively, the Blackout Bar page. It's morphed in and out of being the "official" Blackout" page and my personal page. I guess, at this point, it's both, esp since our actual site is pretty useless. Either way, always sort of thought of the night as extension of myslef and my musical taste.
We officially killed Blackout Boston off in May '06, almost exactly 4 years to the date we started. We went through 3 clubs, several hundred bands, probably a dozen or 2 bartenders and christ only knows what else.
Damian lives in NYC and he DJs at the Standard among others. I moved to LA at the beginning of December 06. We are willing to sell the franchise "Blackout Bar" to anyone who's interested, however.
I've started Black Out Bar, Los Angeles, however. It's now a monthly at Safari Sam's, on Sunset. My new partner in crime is Mr Ben Bornstein, also a former Masshole, who played in the Epitomes and Lost Cause. He used to DJ at the Spyder Room out here, and does the infamous Burgandy Room Mondays and Tequilla Tuesdays at Dragonfly.
I live in Echo Park, and manage the building I live in, with my girlfriend, the cats and another roommate. I run music/entertainment company that encompasses a management division, several record labels, a clothing company, several websites and about 4million myspace and trig profiles. To paraphrase an old friend, "I've got more shit going on than the guys on the space shuttle." I work a few nights a week at the aforementioned, Safari Sam's. I've discovered that the expression "let's do lunch," actually does exist and is glorious.
I'm on my way to destroying yet another laptop and another overpriced phone/pda/pocket pc type thing. I am where technology goes to die. I feel bad for the electronic devices that come home with me. (I still can't figure out how to set up my fucking stereo again.) I won't even get into what I do with automobiles.
I have an exstensive knowledge of LA dive punk bars, but haven't the foggiest idea if we even half mini-golf or bowling out here. Mexican food is great, but I really don't understand what the hell happened to any Italians that once lived out here, because they apparently didn't leave their food or recipes around.
