Kirk's political philosophy
1. Originalism---A belief that a Constitution or statute has a fixed and knowable meaning which is established at the time of passage or ratification.
2. Limited government---A system in which any more than minimal governmental intervention in personal liberties and the economy is prohibited by law in a written constitution.
3. Federalism---A system in which the power to govern is shared between the national and state governments.
4. Laissez-faire---A doctrine that opposes economic interventionism and taxation by the state beyond that which is needed to maintain individual liberty and private property rights.
5. Free market economics---A system in which prices of goods and services are arranged completely by the mutual consent of sellers and buyers.
6. Peace through Strength---A doctrine that military strength is a primary or necessary component of peace.
