DI Montana was born David Olander Ivy on November 18, 1974 In Nashville TN. At a young age he was quickly influenced by hip hop, in which he began his rapping career. During his teenage years he stayed involved in academic sports such as basketball, football, baseball, tennis, cross country, and boxing. Although entertainment was in his blood coming from a long line of gospel musicians and pastors the streets became the life as he got older. Maintaining honor roll throughout high school and an illustrious basketball, football, and boxing career, tragedy struck when he became in trouble with the law. Determined to bounce back from adolescence mistakes DI received a bachelor’s degree from ITT Technical Institute graduating top of his class with a 3.9 GPA. Disappearing from the rap game for several years he fulfilled his career as a technical engineer and father of four David Jr., Hailey, Adrienne, and Devon. Though boxing never left the picture, and splitting from his spouse, again DI Montana decided to fulfill his dream as an entertainer. Remembering his early years as a part of the Nashville act Nutcase with Tom Tom a local emcee in Nashville, he soon bumped heads with Chop Shop co-host of Not Just Country. He and the producer ( Hypeman Rick) became good friends and invited DI to become one of the co-host. Since DI Montana has been working on a new album, soon to be released, and can be featured with many of Nashville talents. His favorite quote “It’s not what you think you lost but what you have to gain that matters†has pushed him into making music about his life and the many friends he has lost. With his down south swagger and hip hop intake his lyrics are truthful and canning. You can find DI Montana on the internet and out in the Nashville area doing what he loves best entertaining. And while obtaining the name “King of Cashville†he is looking to take over and give his city the best he has to offer. DI explains without the help of his close friends Hypeman Rick, Kyhil (Mr. 615), Colleen Curtis (CC) of Firepit Friday, and Chop Shop none of this would be possible.
