Currently, I am working on two writing projects that I hope to have completed soon with the hopes of releasing them to the world in 2008. One of my projects is an anthology of writings related to Afro-Latinos. I have been researching the African Diapora for most of my life and, in particular, since 1998, the study of Black people in Spanish-speaking countries. I have created a webpage detailing a small bit of Black history in Latin America on MiGente.com. Click on the following link: Afros All Over
The other writing project is a more personal piece of work which will detail my search for personal growth and enlightnement. More details will be posted here and on my website as I my projects near completion.
Who...Am...I??
* I'm a daily practicioner of conscientious consciousness, as coined by my friend Ronique as well as my style of Simple Living * I'm a New York City native living in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania * I was born to Afro-Caribbean immigrants from the small island nation of Antigua & Barbuda * I am the quintessential Aqaurian * I enjoy sports, particularly the physics and philosophy behind it * I have been locking my hair since the summer of 2005 * Although I'm Afrikan, I am all for the well-being of all Beings on Earth * My aura and personality is one of an Indigo Adult Lightworker * I'm a NOBODY enjoying my SELF *
The Purpose of My Life
This just in...the world has a serious problem. And the problem is US. Yes, you! Me! The world is in the state that is in because we made it so, either by our actions or non-actions. Also, the world is in the state that it's in because many, many of us have no idea of who we are, as if there were a taboo placed on having that kind of knowledge. It's a serious thing! Look at the rewards of a world that is unconscious of its consciousness: guns, murders, rapes, extreme rapes, suicide, spiteful homosexuality, most of the tenets of Christianity/Islam/Judaism/Hinduism, terrorism, sexism, racism, speciesism, jealousy, etc. Consciousness creates the universe and the thought of "separateness" has the world in disarray plus has caused many of us to say things like "fuck the world" or "don't ask me for shit". Fuck the world? Tell me, what did the world do to you? People need to be asking themselves, "what have I done to the world?" This perceived separateness is the cause of all the world's problems and has caused a drift between the complimentary sexes (males/females). Serious thing!
The prime victims of the poisons that infect our planet are children. Children who then grow up into adults and continue to perpetuate the poisons that infect us. Adults that breed more children. It's a viscious cycle that were caught in. So, what do we do? The main thing that everyone must do is UNDERSTAND. That is the only way we can bring about change. Ain't no revolution coming until we start the revolution in ourselves and UNDERSTAND the SELF.
With that being said, the purpose of my life is to leave a lasting impact on other Beings, namely children. How? By exposing us for who we really are so that we master our mistakes and enhance our qualities. And I'll start by sharing my story cause it all starts with myself. The chances are remote that I will ever have or even create an opportunity to have a child grow from my sperm. It's more important, I feel, to nurture the children that already exist on Earth today. Since 2004, I have been a member of Children International , helping to enrich the life of a 9 year-old girl from Barranquilla, Atlantico, Colombia. We're in an age of closeness, thanks to the internet, and far away lands don't seem so far afterall and it's wonderful to help someone whether in your neighborhood or in a neighboring nation.
Aside from using my own personal story to assist in the creation of a new human being, I feel that sports can help with the transition from negativity to positivity; particularly baseball. Having said that I am volunteering my time to the Major League Baseball - Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities program, which can inspire children to play, learn and grow. The blackboard is okay, depending on what's written on it, but I prefer using the principles of baseball because they relate so much to life.
In addition, fellow spiritual seeker and writer, Wayne Wirs , has developed an organization to help find missing children in the United States which I am all for.

Quotes to Think About
"A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." - Jackie Robinson
"Until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned, everywhere is war..." - Emperor Haile Selassie I
"Look way deep inside yourself
Discover the diamond inside, find ya wealth" - Nas
“I like to use the word colorful; I don’t like to use the word flamboyant. It’s like you’ve got two TVs, a black-and-white one and a color one. What are you going to choose? They both show the same thing, but one of them’s more appealing to the eye.” - Lastings Milledge - Washington Nationals formerly of NY Mets
""Was I bored? No I wasn't fuckin' bored. I'm never bored. That's the trouble with everybody - you're all so bored. You've 'ad nature explained to you and you're bored with it. You've 'ad the living body explained to you and you're bored with it. You've 'ad the universe explained to you and you're bored with it. So now you just want cheap thrills and like plenty of 'em and it dun't matter 'ow tawdry or vacuous they are as long as it's new, as long as it's new, as long as it flashes and fuckin' beeps in forty fuckin' different colours. Well whatever else you can say about me, I'm not fuckin' bored." - From the 1993 motion picture Naked.
Marraige
Marriage is not based solely on romance and monetary security. Nuh, unh! Instead, it's the deepest and most intimate relationship you can have with another person. We've forced it to be based on romance but becuase of this, most modern marraiges fail and many tetter-totter their way into a standstill. I'm proud to announce to the world that on June 15, 2007, I got married. Without the help of the "state". (Ponder that one.)
Many say that marraige is the union of two people in the eyes of "God", with a witness..LOL I tell these same people, "who was the witness for Adam & Eve's marraige?" No man of the clergy or otherwise person qualified by the state of [fill-in the blank], hired to "unite" two people cannot tell me that "i now pronounce you man and wife". No, my princess and I have made that determination for ourselves.
These dogmas written as part of the "script" that we've been almost coerced to follow has hindered my growth and caused the world to breed neurotic bitches and sons of bitches. Yes, shall I repeat it again? Neurotic! Striving for perfection when perfect people cannot grow. We're so stuck to the script that it ain't even funny.
I've fallen in love, that was the easy part. Falling is easy; look at how easy it is for one to get knocked down by the wind. Even that commercial from back in day had the old man saying, "I've fallen and I can't get up". Serious thing. Getting up is the excercise that many of us have failed to put into action, even me, and while down, we've have had an invisible foot on our necks plus a monkey on our backs. And when one of the parties does rise, it's without their partner, and instead it is to rise up outta the situation. So, I encourage everyone, from this point forward, that after "falling" in love, RISE in love. Thus, we will be living in love. There will be no point in worrying about if we are going under the earth or up into the sky upon death. Besides, there are many people under the earth already; buried, amongst the worms. And, gravity prevents us from staying in the sky.
My status, you'll notice, has not changed from "single". How come? Cause I'm a single body and therefore we all are single bodies. Simple as that.
In closing, I'd like to say the following to my wife:
Thankfully, my time of solitude has allowed me to remove the wool that covered up the mud and filth. I was carrying a blanket like Linus and was afraid to drop it. On this planet, which seems so dark at times, I saw many torches but yours shined a lot more.
I worship the ground you walk on and which also supports you. We all need someone to watch over us and trust that my eyes have healed moment of "nothingness" I felt the day I realized that I was in love with you. I'm ecstatic that you and I are working towards a life together, in the flesh, and embrace the bond felt between us across states despite the 1200 mile difference. And even though things on Earth seem to be getting worse, my happiness has been enhanced with you joining me in the celebration of my existence. I love you, Heaven...with no equivocations.
Rising in love! Living in the NOW!
Well, that's enough out of me. In closing, I leave you with the following words: You can learn by listening, and you can learn by not listening.
That's pretty much does it, yeah...
Thanks for stopping by.
Peace, Love, Blessings and Ash~e (as-shay)...
