is the brainchild of Swedish-born DJ Soulswede, aka Souly. Its mission is to get back to the unifying art form and revive the “soul” in music.
He was born in the turbulent 60’s (1967) and raised in southern Sweden. Around the age of 8, young Souly asked his parents to buy him the new George McCrae single called “Rock You Baby.” Mesmerized by the soulful voice and the melodic groove, he began to explore his father’s vinyl collection to discover his favorites by Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder. In the early 80’s he bought his first album, “Secret Combination” by Randy Crawford. The father a musician has been playing organs in churches almost all his life which undoubtedly inspired the son to explore the music that had its roots in the churches a world away.

And thus Souly embarked on the journey to build on the legacy. In the mid 80’s he discovered local radio stations, which were a rather new phenomenon back then. But he did not appreciate the music they were playing. One day he asked one of the stations if he could run a show playing soul music, and "Soul Power Radio" was born.
He later moved on and founded "Soul Food Radio.” He was doing a one-hour weekly show playing soul and funk music only. The response was not overwhelming. Soul music was not the most played genre back then. He was even threatened on one of his live shows and was actually harassed by people for playing black music on the radio. He had to leave the studio through a back door for a period of time. But undaunted, he held onto his passion and love for the music. Over the years he has been playing everything from raw, naked, and “uncensored” hip hop to quiet storm, smooth jazz, soulful house, deep soul, and hardcore funk. But his heart is in the deeper school of soulful music. It “must” contain a strong melody. He always comes back to the fact that soul music must reflect the person behind it. It’s all about credibility.
In the past Souly has interviewed many known artists but he is now determined to focus on good and sensible music and give attention to the artists who continued with the legacy of touching the heart and soul of the listener. He recognized that there was a need that had to be ful-filled; “the essence and art of making music” had to be restored. He dared to think big and he took on the task to showcase the talents that are left untouched and bring them directly to the audience without commercial interference.

As a radio personality he knows his craft and has a remarkable way of interviewing and engaging the artist and the audience at the same time by asking penetrating questions to get to the core of the music and the people behind it.
With Soul Interviews the man behind the mission wants to take his love for the music to a higher level and give the artists that came before him the opportunity to discuss their beginnings and their artistic endeavors as he introduces them to the global audience, something that the technological advances of our time makes possible.
Soul Interviews will bring the total package closer to the music-loving audience with instant speed. It will be an interactive platform for the artists and their fans and other parties in and outside the music business. It will give them the opportunity to take the conversation to a deeper level. They will be able to engage and connect with people world wide at the speed of light. Soul Interviews will feature soul, funk, jazz, R&B and soulful house. It will host a “Deep talks” and “Quick talks” featuring long and short interviews with artists who have the same passion for good music in their respective genres and stay true to their craft.
