About Me

My overwhelming desire to smell good is what motivates virtually every decision I make. I give human names to all of my inanimate objects. I feel strongly that Juicy Pear is the best flavor of Jelly Bellies. My biggest pet peeve in life is finding an asterisk that doesn't lead to anywhere. I hiccup way more than the average person. I actually have no idea how often the average person hiccups; I'm just speculating. I appreciate proper semi-colon usage. I think sincerity is underrated.

My Interests

Theatre, art, independent film, sustainable living, vegan cooking, fire escape gardening, John Cusack movies, 80s music, playwriting, frisbee, going on adventures, watching "The Tony Danza Crazy Hour", Trivial Pursuit, following Gavin Newsom's hair, 20 Questions, drinking wine out of the bottle, singing guitar solos, singing show tunes down Market Street.

I'd like to meet:

Men who sing Falsetto. People who understand proper escalator and subway etiquette. Organic farmers.

Music:

Scissor Sisters, Sufjan Stevens, Stars, Mates of State, Maximo Park, The Smiths, R.E.M., Fiona Apple, Genesis, Queens of the Stone Age, Elliott Smith, The Bangles, Ben Folds Five, The Cure, Indigo Girls, Velvet Revolver, The Shins, The Decemberists, Ted Leo, Arcade Fire

Thumbsucker, Me and You and Everyone We Know, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dancer in the Dark, American Beauty, Say Anything, Garden State, American Psycho, Magnolia, every movie made by Wes Anderson, Todd Solondz, and Christopher Guest, Harold and Maude, Dirty Dancing (I'm not ashamed to admit it), The Muppets Take Manhattan, So I Married an Axe Murderer, St. Elmo's Fire or anything else featuring the Brat Pack.

Television:

Oz (the best show ever made), Scrubs, The Office, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, Arrested Development, The Wonder Years, Six Feet Under, Freaks and Geeks, Home Movies.

The Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland, Fast Food Nation, Mad Cowboy, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, The Bone People. Favorite plays: Long Day's Journey Into Night, Angels in America, How I Learned to Drive, Othello, Death of a Salesman.

Heroes:

Chris Daly (I heart local politics)... and Pat Benatar. What? She rocks.

It wouldn't be a holiday if I didn't humilate the cat...

Warm fuzzy movie review...
