So many interests that some become distractions from time to time. Playing music is the bigun'. I'm also into reading, cooking, movies and all kinds of other stuff. I always forget scrabble , love scrabble.
Like minded folks to share music and yuks with, and local scrabble players I'm on a serious scrabble jones lately.
On an extended twang kick lately, lots of old country and rockabilly but my musical tastes run far and wide. Anything from old Louis Jordan tunes to Motorhead."Has Been" by William Shatner, yes, William frigging Shatner is an overlooked modern classic!!otherwise just look at my friends list and you'll get a pretty good idea
I'll watch almost anything and get some sort of entertainment value from it, but I like to think I know the difference between good and bad film.Liked V for Vendetta, kind of 1984 meets Zorro, meets the Phantom of the Opera.Lots of the usual stuff,Godfathers except the hideous third one, Brazil and other Terry Gilliam stuff, Scorsese, Jim Jarmusch, Jeunet and Caro are all faves, love Quentin Tarrantino's movies because it's so obvious how much he loves movies and of course spaghetti westerns.
I'd like to take a big hammer and smash mine most of the time , but alas, I'm addicted, to Boston Legal and Lost especially.
Catch 22 is my all time favorite book, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is another, anything by Paul Auster, Paul Watkins, Roald Dahl or Andrew Vachss or Dumas(Count of Monte Cristo is an all time fave). Other than that just a scattershot list of stuff that strikes me as interesting at any given time, I'll read toothpaste tubes and cereal boxes if there's nothing else around.
Hunter S. Thompson even though the silly bastard shot himself, Lemmy, just because he's Lemmy and the guy who invented the Pet Rock because he gives me hope in the awesome power of silliness. And of course Johnny Cash for many reasons.
