DLP’s musical journey began at the tender age of 5 years old, where he attended New Psalmist Baptist Church in his hometown. He vividly remembers telling his Minister of Music, “I want to be the greatest drummer in the world!†Not realizing that his innate gifts, desire and passion would take him far beyond the constraints of a mere drum set, DLP embarked on a voyage that has led to tapping talents in songwriting and production. He found himself writing and producing demos throughout his adolescence. By the time DLP was 17 years old, he accepted a scholarship to the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was a dual major in Music Business & Songwriting. DLP left Berklee prematurely when he met mega music producer, Rodney “Darkchild†Jerkins. Jerkins was so impressed by the young producer’s talents he offered him the chance of a lifetime - to train directly under his tutelage! DLP has been laying the foundation for a bright, successful future in this industry, his star is rising quickly and he will soon have the entire globe moving to his sonic beats!
