__The music of 9virus is a lethal mix of aggressive guitar riffs, psychotic noize, and hook in mouth vocals served up on top of a wall crushing rhythm section. Not a band to be categorized into genres or trends the band displays a wide stylistic range of tones and textures, often brutal and delicate within the context of a single song. Critics who have tried, have drawn similarities to diverse bands such as Incubus, Janes Addiction, Limp Bizkit, Pearl Jam, Rage against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins and Tool.Born out of the ashes of two prominent local southern California acts, 9virus came to life out of the need for Derik Copland (vox) and Aaron Kaai (guitars), to get back to creating without preconceived notions, free from the creative constraints put upon them by their local celebrity status. Shortly thereafter Brent Barrowman (bass) dropped into the collaboration to round out the sound and add weight to an already potent mix of emotionally charged vocals and heavy guitars. After a couple of changes the current lineup was fused together in early 2004, with the aggressive talents of Nick Lee (guitars) and Chris Bonsky (drums).9virus has recently finished their EP, which features the poignant 4 a.m. and the scathing rage filled ode to a relative Just to Amuse You. The album will be available via the internet soon.Due to lineup changes and the daily rigors of life, 9virus has been put on hiatus indefinitely. blah, blah, blah, does anybody care about a bands bio? Don't think I ever met a band that did, but I could be wrong. So that was it though, us, down to a couple o' paragraphs, in a nutshell, a blurb, and "no" if you read this far you can't have back the 2 minutes we just sucked away from your life....nope...not giving them back...outta luck..sorry...ha!...by the way, please dont disturb our pet fetus.
