I know it sounds corny, but my parents. My mom had emphysema. She could hardly breathe. She did at-home breathing treatments and was on oxygen for the last year of her life, but she never complained. My dad bounced back from the whole thing beautifully. He said he would never be one of those people who moans for the rest of their life about how much they miss their spouse. He told me, "I know she's in Heaven, because she went through Hell here." And he's an Atheist! That was almost 8 years ago. He'll be 72 in December, and he just got married in June!
