Alison’s Op are currently a three-piece outfit from Cardiff... Unlike many, they dispense with translucent grief and scripted bullshit in favour of musicality, energy and innovation... After a few turbulent years, the band have established distinctive style and a refreshingly optimistic approach to everything they compose. Dynamically combining elements of metal, funk, jazz, swing, latin and old-school rock - the genres can’t and won’t stay still. Already isolated by the local music scene because of their musical distinction from everything else that’s being played; the Op are one of the few distinguishable bands around at the moment. Welding the accessible with the inventive and moving at a pace motivated by an unbounded enthusiasm for music, success is not an issue. At long last music is the issue at hand, not the make of the t-shirt.
