Siôn Russell Jones

My name is Sion Russell Jones.
I’m a 23 year old songwriter from Cardiff, South Wales. Music is and always will be the biggest component in my life. I try and have as little preconceptions about what I think my next composition will sound like which gives me the freedom to write without the burden of over analyzing everything I do. My main instrument is the acoustic guitar and the majority of my compositions are based around its characteristics but I also compose on other instruments and try to include a variety of sounds in my songs.
I also compose separate recordings for my band Ginge & CelloBoi. I can only describe us as a hyperactive-foot-stompin-bluegrass-rockin-acoustic duo. We regularly play on the Cardiff acoustic music scene as well as private parties, weddings, proms and other types of celebrations. We are members of the music corporation Live Music Now that organize lunch time concerts for the elderly, disabled and prisoners. My Compositions have been played regularly on BBC Radio Cymru, And I have been fortunate enough to do a few television interviews on Welsh television network S4C as well as a few live sessions on Radio Cardiff. I have recently joined forces with producer Gethin John at Still Small Voice Records and my first full-length debut album will be released later on in the year so watch this space…..

Something Completely new to the music scene in Wales. The Boys play a fantastically unique blend of Bluegrass music! They adopted their name after a drunk man referred to them as Ginge & Cello boy in a pub, despite the fact that its actually a double-bass!
