LIVE ACT FOLK PROJECT

Our band, the LIVE ACT FOLK PROJECT was formed in April, 2007.
Our show consists of popular and less well-known folk songs accompanied by a beatbox, a bass and a guitar. It combines folk music with other genres like jazz, hip-hop and electronic music, resulting in an unusual and fresh sound.
Having won an application at the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Paris, we represented Hungary on 21 June 2007 by a very successful concert in Paris at the music festival ‘Fete de la Musique’. We had been chosen from among 127 applicants to be included into a group of three bands who had the opportunity to travel to Paris.
In Hungary we have played at live events many times (including Kamera Hungária) organized by Balázs Lévai in cooperation with his TV-programme called Dob+Basszus, a popular cultural show broadcasted in the country. Last summer we gave a concert at the Sziget Festival and also played at an event organized by the Hungarian national television on the occasion of the channel M1 anniversary.
The vividness of our concerts is supported by three excellent dancers who consummate the music by a show using traditional elements of folk dance. This way we represent a modern and fresh sounding and spectacle.
Being voted first place by the audience, we had the chance to participate in the final of the talent contest called Ki-Látó where we gained third place in the world music category. As a price we have also been given the opportunity to give a concert on the stages of Fonó Budai Zeneház, a famous community place for people who enjoy listening to folk music, jazz, ethno-jazz or world music.
We also had the chance to play in the framework of a conference called “Visegrad perspectives and opportunities – cross-border cooperation of young researchers” to an audience consisting of people from five countries. Our modern interpretation of the musical heritage of our country was applauded by the participants and was highly appreciated by the organizers.

Együttesünk, a LIVE ACT FOLK PROJECT 2007 áprilisában alakult.
Musorunkban beatbox-, gitár- és basszusgitár kísérettel szólalnak meg közismert és ritkábban hallható népdalok különbözö, a népzenétöl ezidáig távol álló zenei stílusok bevonásával (jazz, hip-hop, elektronikus zenei müfajok).
A Párizsi Magyar Intézet pályázatának nyerteseként ezzel a programmal képviseltük 2007. június 21-én Magyarországot egy nagy sikerü koncerttel Párizsban, a Zene Ünnepén. A 127 jelentkezöböl bekerültünk azon három zenekar közé, akik kiutazhattak a francia fövárosba.
Több alkalommal is felléptünk Lévai Balázs müsorának, a Dob+Basszusnak élö programjain, így pl. a Kamera Hungárián. A nyár folyamán koncertet adtunk az M1 születésnapi rendezvényén a Kossuth téren, valamint a Sziget Fesztiválon is bemutattuk müsorunkat.
Fellépéseinket jelenleg már három kiváló táncos aktualizált népi elemeket használó produkciója is színesíti, így elmondhatjuk, hogy mind a hangzás, mind pedig a látványvilág terén újszerü stílust képviselünk.
A Ki-Látó tehetségkutató versenyen közönségszavazattal elsö helyen jutottunk a döntöbe, ahol világzene kategóriában bronzérmesek lettünk, és ezzel fellépési lehetöséget kaptunk a Fonó Budai Zeneház színpadán.
Legutóbbi fellépésünk során a "Visegrádi perspektívák és lehetöségek - fiatal kutatók határokon átnyúló összefogása" elnevezésü konferencia öt országból érkezö résztvevöi számára mutattuk be hazánk zenei örökségét e modern megközelítésben, kivívva mind a külföldi vendégek, mind pedig a konferencia szervezöinek elismerését.
