Not a big groupie for anyone, really. I love culturally conscious folx. Wouldn't mind runnin' into Malcolm Jamal Warner. I am so in love with his hair. Speakin' of hair.....love meetin' folx with bold hair. That whole straight/long hair phase is so played out. Always lookin' to grow, be inspired and inspire folx with coo personalities and intellectual mindsets. I can most defintely do without the stalkers from Nebraska, though. Fo reals.
I have 2 other aliases whom I think need introductions.
Abunda Escri
A.Escri is poetic. She's mellow, intellectual and an optimist. She is constantly writing in her head, uses big words and is always seeking inner peace. A.Escri is an over achiever, a perfectionist and doesn't take criticism too well.
Sista Rebella
S.Rebella is mad, angry and simply does not CARE. She is madd about the system, wants change and is always ranting. S.Rebella is seeking consciousness on a daily basis. Please don't confuse her with a ghetto diva with a 'tude. She's on anotha level.
I looove smooth jazz (Wayman Tisdale, Dave Coz....love them!) and classical (Vivaldi is pure genius).
But I listen to neo-soul and r&b/soul the most.....Erykah Badu, *Anita Baker*, A.Keys, Anthony Hamilton, Vivian Green, Hil St. Soul, Kindred, Kem, Jaquar Wright, Lalah Hathaway etc..
I am soo old skool! *Earth, Wind & Fire*, Luther, Isley Bros.... I listen to 70's funk all the time! Ohhhh....funkadelic! I shoulda grew up in the 70's!
And of course gospel...Israel & New Breed, Kirk, Shirley, Fred, Cece, etc. Learning to love reggae. And revoluntionary rap like Dead Prez. But very little rap, if any. It's just gettin' outta hand these days. I LOVE jungle too....underground music is really where it's at.I don't like much mainstream music. Turn OFF the radio.
I'm listenin' to nothin' but 90's R&B these days. Troop, Mint Condition, Shai, etc. That or some jazz. Still running away from commercial mainstream music. Ugh!

Idlewild is my FAVORITE! Friday, Set it Off, Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Meet the Browns were sooo good. Hotel Rwanda was amazing. LIFE, Home Alone, The Christmas Story, Coming to America, The Color Purple, A Time to Kill, Barbershop are some other classics.
I really only watch local news, BBC News, CNN and Nick@Nite. Makes me sound old, uh? I still love Martin, Good Times, Living Single, The Cosby Show, A Different World....mostly ole' Black tv shows that get canceled too early. Oh....and this boi here...
I like to read Black history books and books about women of color. I also TRY to do Bible devotion. I have to.....gotta remain sane somehow. I love my Black novelists. Too many to name. But like most college students there's very little time for leisure reading. I'm doin' better though....A few of my favorites are below.
"Negroes With Guns"
-- Robert F. Williams
"The Best-Kept Secret"
--Kimberla Lawson Roby
"Your Negro Tour Guide"
--Kathy Y. Wilson
"Ar'n't I a Woman?"
--Deborah Gray White
"When Africa Awakes"
-- Hubert Henry Harrison
.....and more.
Most people say that their Mothers are their heroes. Blah blah blahhhhh....that's easy. My Mom is above hero status. Now Charles Hamilton Houston, Angela Davis and Hubert Henry Harrison were some serious pioneers! If you don't know their history, wow....you're missin' out.Wait, can't forget David Walker and Mariah Stewart. Serious radicals in the 1800's! Both were martyrs for freedom. Matta fact, anyone who can make their voice heard regardless of what people think are all heroes to me.
