I closed my eyes but oblivion never came…
With eyes shut tight and knuckles clenched white, Dreaded Silence presents the soundtrack to their personal apocalypse. The follow up to the 2005 debut, Jet Black, Blood Red, Oblivion Never Came marks the evolution of the band’s dark and distinct approach to progressive melodic metal.
The four original songs featured on the EP effectively capture the dynamic style of the band, with nods to influences such as Katatonia, Opeth, Dan Swano, Death, Emperor, Enslaved, Rush and Porcupine Tree.
Consisting of founders Ken Gillis (vocals) and Mike Orifice (guitars), as well as newer recruits Scott Green (guitars), Dana Chisholm (bass) and Anthony Simone (drums), Dreaded Silence have worked hard at honing their craft to new levels on the live circuit, sharing the stage with acclaimed metal luminaries such as Katatonia, Swallow the Sun, Daylight Dies, Insomnium, Moonspell, and Scar Symmetry.
Part progressive rock, part extreme metal, but always focused on strong songwriting and melancholic melody, Dreaded Silence is dedicated to spreading their unique brand of metal to a growing fanbase of souls on the edge of the abyss and leading them into oblivion.
