SomeSin

SomeSin was formed in the spring of 2003. The band is a 4 piece rock and metal band with a modern edge. In the summer of 2003 the band was tired of playing only cover tunes and decided to write their own music. It only took a little over a year and the band had enough songs to make their first recording. From a friend of a friend they teamed up with Sonic Digital and recorded their first cd, “in like sin”. The band consists of their vocalist Kelli Schmitt who has won several karaoke contests throughout Michigan in addition to fronting her own band for several years. Her style is for the most part, hard rock with a strong sense of melody. She can sing anything she chooses, but armed with her ornate sense of melody, what she brings to the band is beyond reproach in every sense of the word. Drummer Shawn Parker has been honing his skills for nearly 20 years and is a fan of all things drums. He has a very progressive style that works great with the music he and the band writes. He always pushes them to try different things and to step out of the box when writing new material. His presence is the backbone of the band. Lon Brugh has been playing the bass guitar since he was in his teens and has been in several bands that have played all over Michigan. His style is more than hard rock and he is a jack of all trades. He can go from blues to bluegrass to metal to funk in a drop of a hat. His vision and skills within this band are second to none. Greg Santora is the lead guitarist that works on crafting the riffs and hooks that complement the songs as a whole. He has played the guitar for over 20 years and has had lots of live and studio music experience. Although he can play a good solo or two, his main focus within the band is songwriting. The combined experience of this band as a whole is truly remarkable. Collectively, all members in the band have opened for more than 10 national acts and have won or placed high in several battle of the bands over the past years. All they want is the opportunity to write and play music for their fans and the public alike and make music their career.
