'Superior grunge' - Planet Sound

About Me

This band is over.

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------

THE TONICS ARE - A five piece from Wigan... THEY PLAY - Alternative rock - 'Solid music, solid influences' - Teletext.. THEY FORMED - From the remnants of a punk/grunge band... THEY'RE INFLUENCED BY - All kinds of stuff - alternative, rock, country, folk, punk, blues, garage, soul.. THEY PLAY - All over the country... LISTEN TO - Our new demo 'Love Will Let You Down' above ^
'Come On' Live at Haigh Hall 06 featuring Rob Fairhurst on drums..
Some review snippets -
'If you listen to 'Wire' on MySpace, with it's interesting discordant intro, and the gallop on the toms leading to that ringing crack on the snare that opens up for that great voice then you'll see they can deliver the goods and are well capable of having an audience headbanging with the best of them'
- Geetan
'guitars that sting like battery acid'
- Independant
'The Tonics occasionally shambolic, sometimes wiry, often inspiring blues rock has been ploughing it's furrow around the gig spots of the north of England a year now. And Gary Christopher, vocals and guitar, Neil Jarvis, guitar, Michael Pattison, bass on Mike Bell on drums are beginning to reap the fruits of their labour gaining better and better reviews by the quarter.'

'Solid music, solid influences'
- Planet Sound
'Now armed with the familiarity of their songs, I find myself singing along involuntary to catchy choruses and bobbing around like shark bait in water, mauled by their infectious weighty bass-lines. The whole room also appears to be enjoying the strong-blues-alternative-edge, with intermittent blooms of warm harmonica that wash over us. People are dancing and stomping.'
