DOWNRIGHT

New album GUERRILLA November 24th

About Me

DOWNRIGHT is as much an experience as it is a band. They’ve been called everything from soulful to ferocious, and they cover all points in between. A duo of musicians drawing from varied musical backgrounds, these boys surround themselves with a talented roster of musicians and take an audience for a musical trip into DOWNRIGHT country (where nothing is quite as it seems). Their sound combines elements of funk, psychedelic rock, wild improv and soul music to create a unique blend that goes down smooth and always satisfies. The band has been regularly working around the southeastern circuit since 1999. Various instrumental combinations are used at every DOWNRIGHT show, such as guitars, organs, string bass, electric pianos, theremin, drums, horns, you name it!Just listen to either of their two CD’s or their 2004 release THE BLING BLING DVD to get a taste of the band’s style. At a typical DOWNRIGHT show you will see hard-core fans (members of the “DOWNRIGHT MOVEMENT”) singing along with their favorite tunes. Perennial favorites include “Nature Girl,” “Fishbowl,” (DOWNRIGHT, 2000) “Crunchy Crunchy Popcorn” and “Drinking the Dregs” (Hidden Agenda, 2002) “Cop on a Bike” and “Bling Bling” ( Bling Bling, 2004).Always keeping things fresh and original, the band has struck off down the road to a successful future. They are constantly writing and recording new material. Some people say that they drink entirely too much coffee. Bootleg recordings of live performances are starting to circulate on the web and elsewhere. They just finished a successful tour of the northeast, a new CD is in the works for the fall of 2005, and the website is regularly updated with audio and video treats for the fans.
