"Choosing the right friends is a life-or-death matter. I've always considered that possibly my highest talent - recognizing and keeping good friends." - Hunter S. Thompson People who are passionate about their lives and compassionate towards others. Anyone who's up for an adventure. I try to surround myself with people who make me laugh and teach me something new. Life's a lot more fun that way.People with great big knee-slapping laughs, because they make everything seem funnier. Someone who will serenade me with "To Be with You" by Mr. Big. Blanket Jackson. Lloyd Dobler. Jim from The Office. A new Woogs. Pub crawling cohorts. People with big hearts. Boys who wear hoodies and don't cry when I beat them at Tetris. People who make silly faces when I take their picture. People who love getting lots of hugs!!!
And most especially...
Eugene gives me butterflies; can I marry him please?
I love the bridge of practically every song, even the songs that I hate. Key changes do something funny to my heart. Throw a gospel choir, harmonica or handclaps into the mix and it's an instant favorite.
My very favorites are songs where a million people are banging on drums and yelling in the background and it sounds like a party.
The Clash, Gogol Bordello, The Beatles, Beastie Boys, Nouvelle Vague, Mates of State, The Polyphonic Spree, Gorillaz, Violent Femmes, Daft Punk, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Junior Senior, most Motown, Darren D'Amato, Grace Basement, The Takedown, The Pubes, Jackson 5, Love, Salt 'n Pepa, TLC, Bjork, Queen, MC Pee Pants, The Clash, The Clash, The Clash and of course, ArethaAmelie is my all-time favorite, and a close second goes to anything touched by Judd Apatow, Wes Anderson or Cameron Crowe. Beyond that, just read everyone else's list... I mean, you like Goonies, too? No shit?
Here's what I always like and what I want more of: Camps, Cults and Choirs. If you could figure out a way to merge "Wet Hot American Summer" with "The Fighting Temptations" and the Manson Family, I would probably watch it every day.
