The best use of life is to spend it for something

About Me

Old Christian guy in San Antonio, Texas. I love talking with other Christians - especially those who are in the military.
I also enjoy talking to ALL active duty military whether you practice a faith or not. I appreciate your service which, IMHO, gives you the right to believe whatever you want to. Doesn't mean I won't dialogue with you about it someday. But it will be with respect and honor.
You can find me on Medina Annex (Lackland AFB) on Sunday mornings at the Chapel and on Tuesday evenings at the Bridge. Stop by and say hello.
Spent 8 years active duty Army Infantry - Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Polk, Fort Knox, Gehlhausen Germany, and Fort Hood. Went to nursing school when I got out. Figured after all that hurting, some healing would be a cause to give myself to.
Places where I hang my hat (besides San Antonio):
Chicago, IL
Denver, CO
Greensboro, NC
Hutchinson, KS
Springfield, MO
St. Paul, MN
Witcha Falls, TX

My Interests

Since I'm SO old, as many of you so lovingly point out, I don't have any of those instant message names because I don't know how to use them. I use this old thing called a telephone. A real one, with a cord and everything!

But I am "hip" enough to have a My Space page and love to get your messages. I use my trifocals to read each of your messages from several distances. Never do see any hidden messages.

But don't let my age fool you. I love people - particularly you younger whipper snappers. And I'll whip you at laser tag or paint ball anytime you're ready. But I always get a low score with laser tag because there's no target between your eyes.

I'm particualy fond of Diet Dr Pepper - so I should probably live closer to Baylor University in Waco. I keep cases of the stuff in my garage. I hoard it. The other day it was on sale and I bought 27 more 24 packs. Just in case a storm comes. FEMA says you should always have enough to get you through the tough times. I wish there were Diet Dr Pepper gift certificates.

I love to eat at Whataburger. They have all you can drink Diet Dr Pepper. The foods okay, but who cares when you can sit there all night talking and take turns empty the old bladder. Another consequence of old age. (Right John?)

Movies:

Okay, now we will talk OLD.

My favorite movie is "How Green Was My Valley." Believe that was made in 1934 and it was the first time Maureen O'Hare was in a movie. YES, that means it was black and white.

Other movies have to include Backdraft (what more could anyone want - lots of fire and Chicago neighborhoods), Dodgeball, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Patriot, We Were Soldiers, Glory, Amistad, and Tombstone (I'm your huckleberry.).

I am currently reading:
Streams of Living Waters by Richard J Foster
