i,m a bass player, Also, I must confess: I’m a gearhead. I love life and all of its surprises. I cherish my family and my friends, got hooked on the bass at 14 years old and never looked back. A friend once told me that he’d go down with the ship... well, I guess I will, too. The three basic laws I try to put into practice are to try to play with people you love, never stop wanting to learn more, dare explore and be yourself. yur attitude is as important as yur playing trust me.
Looking back in time, I discovered Paul Butterfield in 64 -- man, he blew me away! That’s what I wanted to play, but nobody I knew wanted to play, or understood that energy, that feeling. So, in order to continue my hunger for music, I had to go through all the styles that came with the times -- Pop, Disco, Beatles, Country, etc. Geez I could write a book! Funny now because 45 years later, I’m still hungry for the music.
For the last 15 years, at last I’m playing Blues and just having a ball. Recently I discovered acoustic basses and Bluegrass... I’ll never let go of Blues but it’s nice to take other venues -- you always learn stuff.
Thanks Barbara for always being there. Your support has made my dream come true.
