About Me

Delusions of grandeur from an early age, it was on my first day of school at the age of 4 that I told my teacher I intended to draw Spider-Man comics for a living. 13 years later I began my first professional commission as an illustrator on Judge Dredd Megazine. __________________________________________After a couple of years I moved into storyboarding and visualising for advertising and design companies, which would dominate my portfolio for much of the next 10 years. I moved back into comics in 2003 as co-creator of two children's graphic novel series. One went on to become a BBC TV show. My soul went right straight to hell. __________________________________________I'm currently working on two forthcoming crime noir/gothic horror series: STEVE WANG'S BIO-MORPHS with writer Ken Miller, and THE PARANORMALS with writer A. Diallo Jackson, as well as a straight-up horror one-shot THE TOMBS, which I'm writing, illustrating and lettering myself. NO GODDAMN COMPUTERS. __________________________________________I am represented by Aker Art Studios. For commissions visit www.akerartstudio.comAll artwork including the avatar and background is mine unless otherwise stated. Splash page/title page

Get it?   Page 1 and 2 of The Tombs. Little tip of the hat to Will Eisner, just wanted to set the tone and atmosphere of the story with an establishing shot, making the city itself one of the cha...

An unwelcome guest

Useless factoid number 3: I gave the girl in the My Dying Bride tee a backstory while I was working on this- she's a lapdancer, originally from France, who had recently had cheap breast implants,...

Eye socket cam

Second page of in-progress horror book The Tombs. This is... page 18, I think. Working backwards.   Useless factoid number 2: the panel layout is ripped off from a page of my work from Bio-Morphs...

Something wicked this way comes

Useless factoid number 1: I ripped myself off on the lower page for the pin-up I did for Dark Horse Comics' Blade Of The Immortal.   One trick pony... ...
