Platypoose

Psychedelic Groove and Contemplation

About Me

Platypoose is a musical cornerstone featuring the musical stylings of Rob Brennan. This includes the early stages of Sudden Stop, a jam/funk band featuring an unusual lineup which embarked on a predominantly improvisational show. Sudden Stop featured the amazing Steve Gadecki on bass guitar, Rick Dorr on guitar, Todd Kehoe on Trumpet, Chris Engle on Trombone, and Rob Brennan on drums and percussion. The idea of this particular project was to embrace the collective vibe of the audience and turn it into abstract musical expression. This show was recorded and briefly offered for sale independently, and did fairly well considering the limited production run.
Moving forward, time was spent pursuing a variety of cover band projects - and the focus on original material began to fade. This recently came back around with a brief stint with The Casual Fiasco - a funk/reggae/rock band based out of Burlington, VT. While the time there was short lived, it was clear that we were heading in different directions...
It is to this end that Platypoose came into existence. This project was created with the sense of sharing some precious gems from the past, as well as live insight into the present and future of what is to come. Not only will you find upcoming work with Refuge here, but you will also get to sample some of my exploratory creations as well.
Thank you for taking the time to check out Platypoose. Let the journey begin!
