THE ART OF ROLLING

About Me

'THE ART OF SURVIVAL' IS NOW AVAILABLE ON
"Blending Biohazard`s raw groove with a modern chug,HAN are metal at its grisliest;played by ugly people for ugly people. While Funeral straighten their hair these boys grow it,before pummeling you with the chain Bullet would hang from keks." - KKK - Kerrang
"a vicious little bitch of an EP" - ROCKSOUND MAGAZINE
THE ART OF SURVIVAL is the much anticipated debut e.p. from Welsh Metal six piece HONOUR AMONG NONE. Recorded by Jeff Rose and Martin ‘Ginge’ Ford at Nottin Pill Studios (Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend) THE ART OF SURVIVAL is a shining example of contemporary Welsh Metal, an accomplished record, as technical as it is powerful. Released on 11 December 2006 the record has already received glowing reviews, along with national airplay on both BBC Radio 1 and Bruce Dickinson’s Rock Show. (BBC Radio 6)
Combining complex timing and elaborate melodies with bludgeoning aggression, HONOUR AMONG NONE have created a record, rooted in classic Heavy Metal whilst achieving a contemporary, even progressive sound.
Sharing stages with acts such as Byzantine, Gutworm, Murder One and more locally, Shaped By Fate, Indifference and Dopamine, HONOUR AMONG NONE have honed their live show into a truly jaw dropping performance which thanks to a constant touring schedule is rapidly winning over even the most demanding fans.
In 2006 HONOUR AMONG NONE signed to SEVENSIXES, an independent label based in Cardiff, and prepared to release THE ART OF SURVIVAL Shortly after HONOUR AMONG NONE made it to the final five in Myspace’s competition to play Download Festival 2006 in Donington. The exposure gained thousands of friends, staggering support from all over the UK, including BBC Radio 1 and Bridge FM, and found the band finishing in second place.
THE ART OF SURVIVAL (SEVSIX001) available in CD format and also for download from welsh music online retailer www.disaudio.com
Full on groove metal that will make your face melt.
"...Be warned - this is one bad assed bastard of a release and one very worthy of donning the favoured (preferably a tin hat) protective head wear in which to enhance your undoubted listening experience... this 6 track debut has all the hallmarks of an unflinching apocalyptic turbo juiced juggernaut tearing at pace towards any would be viewers daft enough to dare be in the vicinity of its punishing malaise... puss filled hatred contained within literally bleeds through the grooves in its attempt to wrest its vengeful fingers around your throat to throttle the living shit out of you... 'Riot' can but be described only as precision head surgery without anaesthesia... - colossal stuff." - THE SUNDAY EXPERIENCE
"...energetic rhythms, strong riffing and some inspired moments of melody, particularly on the two stand out tracks, ‘Lost’ and ‘Face To Face’. Quite a few influences spring to mind – Pantera, Dillinger Escape Plan and even Opeth. The drumming is superb throughout and the production of a very high quality. On the strength of this debut release we are looking at another Welsh success story." - DEANO - HARDROCKHOUSE.COM
"Honour Among None have produced a CD that I respect. Stylistically there is a strong likeness to Pantera throughout with plenty of squealing guitars a la “Becoming” from “Far Beyond Driven” and also Slipknot so certainly worth a listen if you like either of those two bands. It’s not quite as simplistic, catchy or groovy as Pantera however, whilst not being quite as cacophonous as Slipknot so it kind of falls between the two bands...Honour Among None are on the thrashier side of hardcore, they’ve got some decent chugs and riffs in there, and they’ve got some biiiiiiiiiiiig drums on their self-titled EP which I admire. The second half of “Lost” is an interesting departure in the style of the band, showing some off some nice guitar work and clearly they don’t have to be “in your face” the whole time... " - Amanda Hyne - HOTDIGITS
"Despite being small in size Wales seems to continually pump us with fantastic new music, Honour Among None are another fine example of this" - StreetTeam UK
"This is refreshingly different! Quite a blend of music going on here - i can hear genuine rock in places, along with metal..." - "Very hard to put my finger on, but it sounds like a groovier Static-X in places (minus the vocals, which are more hardcore in tone - Biohazard anyone? With some really strong melodic vocals too - talent)." - "it's a nice eclectic mix of styles being boiled in the same couldron. Chalk yet another good band up for Wales!!" - Aaron RRUK Scout
"The industrial sub-machinegun drum fire of Honour Among None evokes the old supreme thrash days of NailBomb and Slayer. Defy these guys at your own peril!... These Welsh hardnuts certainly bite harder than the likes of their fellow Lostprophets and Bullet for My Valentine. You’d have to wield a pretty hefty bat to mess with this mob!! Particularly competent drumming from SparX and overall technical capacity of the rest of the group are their main strengths. ‘No Need’ I feel is the strongest track. Swift time changes, melodic distorted solos and touches of lamenting wah cut to the bone." - Kiran the Killer - Tasty Fanzine
