"All human love and gratitude are damned poor things... The truth is usually a nasty thing to stand." ~Paul Lawrence Dunbar
"I drink to stay warm, and to kill selected memories..." ~Conor Oberst
"But the most striking feature of the man, it seems to me, was the metaphysical anguish which he endured so openly and modestly. Not a single day passed without him being tempted to kill himself. But this suspended death gave him a kind of charming and destructing irony - his native intelligence, which was above all the art of finding and establishing in his daily life, and even in his perception, a lethal duet to which he submitted all the objects of this world." ~Jean-Paul Sartre
"It is September, The month in which I was born; And I have no thoughts." ~ Richard Wright
"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer." ~Albert Camus
"There is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy." ~Albert Camus
"Great Spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." ~ Albert Einstein
"...Live Deep..." ~ Thoreau
"If the Eyes had No Tears, the Soul Would Know no Rainbows." ~ Native American Proverb
"I doubt sometimes whether a quiet and unagitated life would have suited me - yet I sometimes long for it. ~ Byron
"The sun shines and warms and lights us and we have no curiosity to know why this is so; but we ask the reason of all evil, of pain, and hunger, and mosquitoes and silly people." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

My Interests

Well, I will try anything at least once! Woohoo! Good times!

I'd like to meet:

Friends, Cohorts, Deviants, Roller Derby Referees, Miscreants, Disco Queens, Mimes, Vagabonds...

as long as you are creative, interesting, intelligent, reflective, passionate, honest, compassionate, and involved feel free to drop me a line!

I do NOT like bigoted, small minded, angry, violent, negative people.

But who does?!? Mean peple suck!

Music:

Here is the list of some music that has grabbed my attention lately - for one reason or another! Please note that this list is in NO discernible order! I like some more than others, but I do like them all! The dense block of musical confection that follows this rather long list consists of a sampling of my "Old Standards" - music that will always hold my heart and own a piece of my soul. It may not always make sense to others, but it makes perfect sense to me....

Fame - I'm an Actor & a writer.... You really shouldn't be surprised!
Plus a slew of old school horror flicks - think Hammer Films - and some new stuff, too! Love the Zombie movies!
I love movies! Independent, Art, and Foreign films in particular. I especially enjoy films that make me laugh, cry, and think.....

Television:

Heroes, Eureka, The 4400, Scrubs, The Office, Jericho, Project Runway, Hell's Kitchen, BBC.... you get the idea! Random & ecclectic....just like me!

Books:

I'm an avid reader, so anything that gets thrown my way is worth reading! But I do have a particular affection for intense, dramatic, thought provoking, and counter culture works. Check out "Civil Disobedience" by Thoreau: http://thoreau.eserver.org/civil1.html

Heroes:

I admire and respect any person who, despite intense opposition, adversity, & oppression chooses to stand up for themselves and the rights of others. Doing the "Right Thing" is very rarely the "Easy" choice, and it takes an amazing person to proceed despite the odds.
Thoreau said "... most men lead lives of quiet desperation." That is NOT me. I take risks and I fly and I fall and I pick myself back up again. I've good experiences and bad, some tragedies, some comedies, and a few catastrophes thrown in for good measure. Some from the harsh injustices of others, and some were my my own damn fault. But they ALL count! Because If you don't take those risks, you will never enjoy the greatness that can come of it.
They say you die the way you live - so, I figure I'm going to get tied to train tracks by a deranged Lillian Gish fan, eaten by a lion, or get shot by a poison dart fashioned by a cannibalistic indigenous people....

October 19-22, 2007: October Rebellion, IMF/World Bank, & No War No Warming Protests & Arrest Videos!!!!! ROCK ON!!!
These are videos of the Polar Bears and, ultimately, their arrest. We came right after them!!
OK.... the following videos are of my group!! We took the intersection of Independence and New Jersey using a body blockade! We "snarled" traffic and successfully shut down Capitol Hill for a bit and fucked up their day!!! And yes.... my pants came off while I was being dragged off by the police. Awesome. At least I was wearing cute leopard print panties! I panty mooned the Capitol!!!
We had AMAZING support!!!!! You ALL ROCK!!! And YES - that IS Lennox Yearwood chanting "Arrest Bush, Not Kids"!!!
