Steven Baggs is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from New York, whose distinct sound is a mix of melodious pop and organic rock. Blending the best ingredients off of pop's musical spice rack, Steven writes songs about past relationships and life experiences which serve up an astringent view of love, loss and everything in between.
Steven, a self taught guitarist and vocalist, first landed major exposure and made his presence known in March of 2004, when one of his songs was entered into the nationwide Clear Channel Radio - Be A Radio Star contest. Out of over 250,000 entries, he was voted in to the Top 7 by fans all over the country and though he lost the contest, he won a Major Label Demo Deal. The contest lasted almost 2 months. Throughout that time, his song was played regularly on Z100 and all of their affiliates. He also had numerous radio interviews with Elvis Duran and Z-Morning Zoo, as well as interviews with celebrity judges such as Christina Milian and Avril Lavigne. The following year was spent playing shows, writing new songs and laying down rough demos for his first big studio record. In March of 2005 he began recording his first solo EP, which was released that June.
After two years of touring and opening for such acts as The Click Five, Steven entered NADA Recording Studio to record his latest EP in April of 2007 with Producer John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Armor For Sleep, The Audition). The EP, co-produced by both Naclerio and Baggs, is packed with upbeat power anthems. Each song is filled with sharpened hooks toughened by innovative guitar riffs and harmonious vocals that settle into your head and stay there.
