Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art. – Andy Warhol

About Me

Is this where I write about myself? I was chased out of the LA river by police helicopters when I was 16. I've had over 50 different cars and motorcycles. Speaking only English well makes me feel like a dolt. Mortality makes me angry. Was at the Grammys the year J-Lo presented wearing hardly anything. I can FPH in the 300s. Almost died on the Hollywood Freeway. Valeria Golino bummed a cigarette off me in three different cities (when I smoked). I go to lunch with my dad every week. Never read Atlas Shrugged. Swore not to date another actress. Been a keynote speaker at Internet trade shows. I try not to take meetings in the morning. Was on the Inc. 500 list. I have a fashionable business bio, but that's not for here. This is for connecting with some friends, music, art and a new corner of the internet to explore. I dig constructing crafty wording, finding something incredibly well designed, avoiding a patterned life, closing a deal, showing you something you haven't seen before.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who has something interesting to say really. People whom are perfectly happy amongst a crowd of strangers whose lives are completely different from their own. If you have no humility or your relationships are conditioned on propaganda or some sort of status, bugger off with ya. Otherwise perhaps Issac Newton, Queen Rania, Neil Stephenson, Valentino Rossi, Shintaro Katsu, Voltaire, Tenzin Gyatso, Tim Roth, Zhang Ziyi, Bruce Lee, Robert Heinlein, Eugen Weber, Lady Gabriela, Buckaroo Banzai, or Ari Vatenen

Here are a few video selections:

Underworld's Everything Everything tour seemed to be the peak of electronic music. The LA show at the Mayan was the highest condensation of energy I've been a part of. I think this was at the fuji festival:Cute GAULTIER spot:Award-winning corporate PR film for PeugeotGroove on some coffee art action!

Music:

You can tell how good the music is by the number of speakers you've blown lately. Ratatat (that is guitars you are hearing, not Moogs!). Underworld. Turin Brakes. MSTRKRFT. The Faint. Royksopp. Trentmoeller. Ulrich Schnaus. Orbital. Phoenix. BT. Quantic. Ladytron. Sacha. Rex the Dog. Tiefschwarz. CSS. Older stuff: English Beat. New Order. Fugazi.

Where I'd rather be tonight:

'Twas a grand day when this came out. One of the few pieces of vinyl still kickin' round:

Movies:

12 Monkeys, Luc Besson stuff (see 5th Element even just for the costumes by JPG), original Zatoichi movies, Dark City, American Cuisine, Roman Vacation, Dogtown and ZBoys (original), The Quiet American, Tron, Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring, Buckaroo Banzai, Kafka, Shop Girl, David Lynch, Fellini, AYBABTU, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Ghost Dog, They Live, The Fog of War, 2046 and all Kar-Wai Wong even though he's obsessed with room numbers, Suicide Club, Gattaca, Lost in Trans, Ugetsu, Happy Times, La Dolce Vita, Logan's Run, Ju On, The Big Blue, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Wu Ji, Legend of 1900, Tim Roth in anything, The Odessa File, The Limey, Frantic, The Game, Falling Down, Ridicule, Seven Samurai, Down with Love, Syriana, Solaris, Dead Man, Sunshine, Toshiro Mifune, Come See the Paradise, Control Room, Beijing Bicycle, Soylent Green, Quitting, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, The Emperor's New Clothes, The Life Aquatic, The Devil Wears Prada

Television:

BBC (Coupling was the best), MotoGP, WRC, Biography, History, Twilight Zone, PBS, IFC. I was an X-Files fan when I was doing the adverts for the show.

Books:

Snow Crash, Holidays on Ice, Across Realtime, Ender's Game, The Art of War, To Sail Beyond the Sunset, Final Blackout, A Cat Who Walks Through Walls, Crossing the Chasm

Good thing this didn't happen to Newton:

Heroes:

Anyone who has risked their life for something they believed in or were passionate about.

And whomever made this manhole cover:
