I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

How can I summarize my existence into a paragraph, or even a whole page, for that matter?
I am compassionate, generous, and kind. I like to laugh. I like to make you laugh, too. I am intelligent and inquisitive, always seeking more knowledge. I choose not to blindly follow the crowd, but to live deliberately and conscientiously, I think for myself. Sometimes I like to be lazy and sleep all afternoon. I'm don't smoke and am drug-free, and meat-free. I love to explore new places and meet new faces. I love to dance. I am a horrible singer, but I do it anyway. I like to hear what's on your mind, and am a very attentive and non-judgemental listener. I can be very loving and passionate. Sometimes I burp and fart. I don't have to be perfect to be perfectly happy.

My Interests

travel, live music, spontaneous roadtrips, GNU/Linux, chocolate, people watching, red wine, FreeBSD, corsets, psychology, dance, laughing, working out, learning new things
The list really goes on and on...

I'd like to meet:

Interesting people with a passion for life and a sense of humor, who have something (or nothing, yet) in common with me... but definitely with more to talk about than what was on the tube last night. I don't care to talk about sports or politics, but most other topics are fair game.
If you'd like to add me as a friend, send a message, introduce yourself, and tell me why we'd connect. (Blind adds are kind of creepy and will usually be ignored) And please oh please have a better opening line than "nice pics, wanna chat?" :)
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -Dr. Seuss

"To succeed, jump as quickly at opportunities as you do at conclusions." -Ben Franklin

Music:

Prince, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Rob Zombie, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Beatles, Nightwish, Powerman 5000, Beastie Boys, Janis Joplin, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Rasputina, Rage Against the Machine, Jimi Hendrix, random unnamed trance/dance stuff, most classic rock, some pop, and almost no country.

Movies:

South Park, Napoleon Dynamite, Risky Business, Princess Bride, Elf, Miss Congeniality, Wayne's World, Austin Powers, Dumb & Dumber, 40 yr old virgin, and basically any comedy. I want to laugh.
Documentaries are cool, too.

Television:

I don't watch TV. I have been without cable in my home by choice for most of the past ten years, and I don't particularly miss the shows and especially don't miss the advertising. I honestly don't even recognize the names of a lot of shows.

Books:

Computer manuals, textbooks, and nonfiction, mostly. Cookbooks and raw food cookbooks. (Can you call them cookbooks if nothing in them is cooked? I wonder...)

Heroes:

My mom. She's a very strong woman. It's been amazing to see her flourish from a 19-yr-old widowed mom to the confident woman she is today.

I love my job.

I love my job. The only time I really dislike my job is when I've got keys and sunglasses in hand, dressed for work, and ready to head to the office and a client calls to cancel. Being a massage the...
