Dimitry of Arcadia

Demetrio Scopelliti a.k.a. Dimitry was born in italy in 1980. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 in the band Vertigo with some friends of him at the hi -school. In 1997 he joined Arcadia which is his actual main project and started playing all over Italy for about 1 year before to enter the studio for the first Arcadia Demotape called “The war of silence”. This Demo even if it was just the beginning turn out great for the band and was top demo on the main european magazines. It was even followed by an Italian tour between the 98 and the 99. In the same year Demetrio started attending lessons from the teacher Enrico Benvenuto, lead guitar player of the italian Death metal band dammercide and he started practicing very hard night and day. In july 1999 he entered the studio again to record the new Arcadia Cd-Demo: “TRUST”. It gained a lot of success on the Italian press and the band was contacted by No brain records for the 1st full length album “Synth” in 2001. The recording sessions have taken place in Venice (Italy). In the main time Dimitry joined the well known italian band Infection Code and started touring with them as well as with Arcadia. But something was missing in his musician career. He realized that he needed a more serious studying background and in 2000 he decided to attend the famous European Musician Institute “CPM” in Milano with the Great Teacher Donato Begotti. He started studying other different styles like jazz, fusion, blues, funky practicing someting like 8/10 hours a day. In june 2004 he got the Degree with a really high evaluation. He started the same year to give private lessons in his home studio and in septemper 2004 he entered the studio for the arcadia new album “Fracture Concrete” at Nadir studios in Genoa (italy) with the great producer Tommy Talamanca. In November he left with Arcadia to Los Angeles to play for a while in the California area. He lived in Hollywood for 6 month and played in the whole east coast area; here in the USA the band signed a contract with the “Sinergy management” owned by mr. David Brown. Also here in Downtown L.A. he started rehearsing with the Lauren Mayew Band, famous singer and actress of Hollywood. In July 2005 he came back to the LA area and this time with the support of “RG production” that in the past already booked the band in a very big festival (Sun & Steel) in Florida with Testament, Deicide, Prong, Trivium and others. In 2006 he joined the cover band “Triba” for some rehearsals and gigs in the north Italy area; Arcadia also shoot the first “Fracture Concrete” video of the song “Sick sick sick”, the new Arcadia promo-cd was out in the same year and he also started working like producer in his home studio as well as in the STUDIO A; he produced the bands Black Monday, Etb,OBC, Brown sugar as well as the new Arcadia album “Cold Cold Bodies” in 2007. This album was out by Valery records in November 2007 after that the band Arcadia in the same year left on tour for 2 times in Europe. Also he got an Endorsement contract with the company Bulk Music who provides strings and picks for Dimitry and in the same year he was contacted by the music school “Università popolare” in Italy to teach Acoustic guitar. Dimitry in this days is writing new material for his Solo Project that will be released not before the next year, he is also giving guitar lessons in his studio and doing long tours with the band Arcadia. He is avaliabe for session work (live or studio) as well as guitar lessons and clinics/workshops.
