About Me

Samurai Kitchen is an alternative indie rock band that creates music not only beautiful but intense, real and with an original sound. For the last two years they have played many shows in their hometown, Stockholm, where they have found a large audience. That, combined with airplay in both the US and parts of Europe, indicates a widespread interest in the band. In the context it's hard not to mention such bands as Radiohead and The Strokes as influences but Samurai Kitchen are no copycats. Rather, they are a band that has found their own sound, a band with fresh ideas that they realise through music. This is certainly not elevator music and it might not even catch on to you immediately (there are potential hits though, like 'Don't Stop' and 'Maybe I Will') but rather, it is music that will grow on you and therefore last longer. The more straight forward songs are accompanied by more complex songs (such as 'Luck On My Side and 'I'm Insane') and together they create the broad spectrum that is Samurai Kitchen.Songs are written by Patrik Jakubowski and Kristoffer Sundberg, two songwriters from the small island of Gotland who on Christmas Day of 2005 decided they needed to get together as a band and leave for the big city. They did, and now just two years later, with the help of bass player Taivas Mikkola and drummer Simon Ryman, their honest will not only to be heard but to be listened to when on stage, makes them one of the best live acts in Stockholm. Their love for music is shown through their dedication; always looking for a larger audience, constantly working on new material, continuously playing like there is no tomorrow. This is the kind of music you can dance to in the evening and that will help you get out of bed the morning after.
"Sibling Sense was formed by the scattered leftovers of the band Debonair. Saying goodbye to key-.board player Eric Liljeforss the base player Fredrik Larsson, drummer Johan Svrd and the Ribbing brothers (Peder, Henrik) turned a page and started developing the rough noicey broken sound that is Sibling Sense. At the Debonair studio in Stockholm all hell broke loose at Christemas 2005. Another crap gig set of the avalanche that would lead to the total brakedown of the band. Fuled by the song writing of Henrik Ribbing Sibling Sense emerged from the ashes. "
"Sonjagon are a band fresh out of school, from Stockholm. Musically their sound is expansive and epic. The obvious references which spring to mind on "Buckybell Wtai" and "Aristocrat" are Muse and Jeff Buckley and the band are all very competent musicians, with the falsetto of Jacob Stenberg easily matching Matt Bellamy et al. The most interesting of the four demo tracks however, is "Abbey Lake", a hypnotic piano-led soundscape with echoey reverb drenched vocals. "Original sound", whilst being the most conventional track on the demo, shows the most commercial promise and could well end up as a lighter aloft stadium set-closer."- Nick Levine (http://www.itsatrap.com/reviews.php?r=70)
