SAMURAI KITCHEN

About Me

Samurai Kitchen is an alternative indie rock band that creates music not only beautiful but intense, real and with an original sound. The songs emerge from the brains of Patrik Jakubowski and Kristoffer Sundberg - two songwriters from the small island of Gotland on the east coast of Sweden - who on Christmas Day of 2005 decided they needed to get together as a band and leave for the big city. They did, and now just two years later the originality and fresh feel of the music combined with an honest will, not only to be heard but to be listened to when on stage, makes them one of the best live acts around.
Nowadays it’s easy to divide bands into two categories: the ones with an average sound that leaves you with a feeling that you’ve heard it all before, and the ones with an original sound, with the songs that you will hum on the way home after attending a show. The kind of bands that you will grow a relationship with, with songs and lyrics that will mean something to you and that will grow stronger each time you hear them. Samurai Kitchen belongs to the last mentioned category. They say what is on their minds and play like there is no tomorrow. It is the kind of music that will be remembered, the kind of music you can dance to in the evening and that will help you get out of bed the morning after. With influences like Radiohead, Arcade Fire, The Strokes and The Libertines, to mention a few, they are here to start a fire and to let it burn.

Bargain of the week (Fuck you / Thank you).

In these times of digitalised music flying around the web in the form of mp3's it must be hard for a record store to survive in a small town like the one I'm in right now, but sometimes I get the feel...

Summer is coming to an end

Summer is coming to an end (even though it feels like it never started) and that means we're back in the game and more hungry for action than we've ever been. The german tour with Antennas tought us a...

New recordings!
