From there I segued into music production and got my first drum machine and started producing for local Hip Hop acts and ended up with my first gold record at 16.At that point I moved to New York to pursue my dream to be a rap producer in the US. Spent a year and a half in New York working with old school legends such as T La Rock (1st artist signed to Def Jam) and Special K (of the group Treacherous 3 featuring Kool Moe Dee) for Sleeping Bag Records. Used to ride the train from the Bronx to Queens solo with all my equipment, those were the grind days, tryna' make it happen:).Afer some time in NY, I decided to attend Berklee College of Music to learn more about mixing records and studio technology. After Berklee, I moved to Los Angeles where I immediately hooked up with Dr.Dre & Ruthless records and produced a project there and the rest is history.Since, I've produced many multi platinum albums and singles, in Rap, R&B and Pop. In addition to his many hits on artists such as:Tupac Shakur: ("To Live & Die In LA", "Soon As I get Home, "Lost Souls", "Letter To Te President", "Teardrops & Closed Caskets", "Heaven Ain't Hard To Find" & more, Ice Cube: "Bop Gun", "You Know How We Do It", "Guerillaz Ain't Ganstas". L.L. Cool J: "Backseat of My Jeep", "Buckin' Em Down" among others. I also remixed singles for artists such as Prince, Ronald Isley, Queen Latifah, Coolio, Naughty By Nature, Everlast and Morcheeba, among others. I was nominated for a Source award for “Producer of The Year” along with Dr.Dre and others. My work in the film and television arenas includes the score for the critically acclaimed box office smash Menace II Society, as well as songs featured in Gang Related, Panthers and Jason’s Lyric. I also composed theme songs for the In The House comedy series starring L.L. Cool J, Out All Night featuring Patti Labelle, The PJ’s, Eddie Murphy’s weekly animated comedy series (for which QD3 received an Emmy nomination), as well as the theme for Grown Ups, starring Erkel. ASCAP honored QD3 with the 1993 ASCAP Composers Award for my work on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, starring Will Smith.In 1999 I expanded by adding a film and TV production arm to my company which goes by the name QD3 Entertainment. QD3 Entertainments first project is a 12 part series of documentary films documenting Hip Hop culture and it’s most important artists ala’ Ken Burn’s hugely successful “Jazz” series, this DVD series is called the "QD3 Collection" (go to QD3.com for more info on all).The first installment in the series was Tupac Shakur-Thug Angel which sold 3x platinum on DVD, The next release from QD3 Entertainment was “BEEF-The Definitive Look At The Harsh World Of Hip Hop Feuds, featuring 50 Cent, Tupac, Ja Rule, Snoop, Mobb Deep, Dr.Dre, Afeni Shakur, Russel Simmons & more. BEEF also sold 3 x Platinum. The third installment from the series was BEEF II which is currently 2x platinum. I'm also currently in development of feature film and television projects having recently completed BEEF: The Series for BET, thee show was highly rated on the network.Most recently we launched QD3.com which is an urban themed Broadband TV Channel featuring similar high quality content as our DVD's.
