I am very openminded and easygoing with lots of varying interests. I love to try new things and I enjoy roller derby, belly dancing, snowboarding, camping, hiking, soccer (GO SLC REAL!), hockey, the local music scene, and scrapbooking. I am also developing a new interest in photography and learning HTML now that I have become addicted to myspace.
I'd like to meet:
Current friends already on myspace, new friends with similar interests, anyone who has something interesting to say, fans of the Salt City Derby Girls, other roller derby girls and anyone who cares enough to say hello.
Music:
If you are listening to the music on my page right now then you are listening to a random Jazz radio station which is what I prefer to listen to in the car because it keeps me relaxed which is always a good thing (unless I'm on my way to derby practice and then I like to listen to something a little more agressive). Overall though, I like a little bit of everything but especially....The Greatful Dead, Lost Profits, Iceburn, Primus, Unwritten Law, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd, OTEP, Nora Jones, Ani Difranco, Blues Traveler, Floater, Tom Petty, Reverand Horten Heat, Janis Joplin, Tool, John Lee Hooker, Old School Freightrain, Dave Mathews Band, Violent Femes, They Might Be Giants, Dead Milkmen, Fugazi, Chavelle, Blind Melon, John Coltrane, Cracker, Fishbone, Bob Marley, Boy Sets Fire, NoFX, Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Stretch Armstrong.....Rock, Punk, Hardcore Metal but not 80's hair band metal, Ska, Jazz, Blues...anything that makes you want to get up and dance!
And of course my very favorite up and coming local band...Massacre At The Wake...if you were fans of POSTRIOT or MINUS ONE you will love this new band even more so if you haven't checked them out already why not do it now? (click on the banner below to go to their myspace page or click on the POSTRIOT banner below to go to their memorial page and see what two of the members in Massacre were doing before)

Books:
Love them!!!! In my house there are books everywhere and I never seem to have enough shelf space no matter how many extra bookshelves I add to keep up with my collection. I usually read several books at a time depending on my current mood. I am currently reading a lot of women's history books and have totally fallen in love with Alice Walker and Joyce Carol Oates. Some of the books I have read or re-read recently include the following: Year of Wonders; Meridian; Now is the Time to Open Your Heart; You must Remember This; The Feminine Mystique; Upton Sinclair's The Jungle; Smashed: Story of A Drunken Girlhood; Female Chavinist Pigs; Sisters of Salome; The Dancing Girls of Lahore; The Awakening by Kate Chopin; Sheila Levine is Dead and Living in New York; and Predators, Prey and Other Kinfolk: Growing up in Polygamy. And because I firmly believe that what you read and whether you even like books says so much about a person here is a sampling of some of the books that are my favorites (in no particular order): The Gulag Archipelago; Stones from the River; The Nazi Officer's Wife; The Handmaid's Tale; Memoirs of a Geisha; The Great Gatsby; To Kill a Mockingbird; Little Women, Fahrenheit 451; Gregory MacGuire's Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister; The Devil Wears Prada; Elegance; Stolen Lives; The Stand; The Changeling Garden; Diary of a Mad Housewife; Sacred Women Sacred Dance; Medicine for the Earth; My Life: Isadora Duncan; Surfing the Himalayas; When God was a Woman; Food as Medicine; Kundalini and the Chakras; Clan of the Cave Bear; A Midsummer's Night's Dream; Good Poems compiled by Garrison Keillor. I also enjoy works by: Edgar Allan Poe, Jack Kerouac, Sark, Edith Wharton, Sylvia Plath; and Phillippa Gregory to name a very few...
Heroes:
My favorite fictional heros are: Hellboy; Harvey Birdman; The Tick and Invader Zim. In reality I think the word hero is overused and overgeneralized to classify entire groups of people that don't necessarily deserve it. All of us can be and are heros to someone for different reasons at different times.
