About Me

"Just because I treat you kindly, doesn't mean that I'm weak" -Lauryn Hill.
I find that character is what makes a person. When you take away all the other beautiful things that occupy and distract us, what's left is who we are and what we stand for. Strong moral character, and good relationships with people is what makes us all rich. I never could understand how people with everything could be so unhappy until I lived with some wealthy people.
I would like to live a life with no strings attached, nothing I couldn't do, no land holding me down, just for me to go out there and experience all there is to know in the world, and then hopefully be able to digest it. But I have to figure out how to do that wtihout feeling lonely and outside of the obligations of earning a living, feeding myself, affording health insurance, and etc. I'd like to live a life full of happiness, freedom, beauty, love, friendship.... as cheesy as it sounds, its true.

My Interests

I love to travel!

BRAZIL
CROSSING THE CANAL TO GET TO THE BEACH
ANGRA DOS REIS, RJ

BRAZILIAN CHURRASCO(BBQ) THIS DAY WE BROKE ALL THE RULES WHILE ON THE TOUR OF THE MUNICIPAL THEATRE OF RIO DE JANEIRO

THE BAHAMAS

CHICAGO- THE VIEW FROM THE SEARS TOWER

Vietnam
Driving a motorcycle to the beach in Hoi An, Vietnam.
I have acquired a new love for Vietnamese food, and Vietnamese coffee.
This is a picture of me inside the Cu Chi Tunel, and I'm not joking, that's really what it's called. They were war shelters for the VietCom. This was one afternoon that we took a ride on the "Huong Hai Junk" do I need to say more? Halong Bay, Vietnam. We stopped for a photo opportunity on the top of this mountain on the way from Hoi An to Hue
Dressed up Vietnamese style for an evening of drinks and a water puppet show.

Thailand
Me at The Royal Palace, Bangkok.

Joann and me admiring the royal guard at the royal palace, Bangkok.

Posing like the Phoenix guardian statue, and sporting typical Thai pants, Royal Palace, Bangkok, Thailand.

The Chiangmai hiking crew, part American, part British, part Irish, and part Thai.

We hiked to remote areas outside of Chiangmai to meet with the people of the Karen hilltribe villages.

We pitched in a little cash to buy eggs for the village kids.

This was the village we called home for two nights.
We hiked high and low through the countryside.
One amazingly old and mystical looking Wat (buddist temple) in Chiangmai. Probably my favorite part of Thailand, Koh Samui Island, sun, snorkling, and good food! MEXICO

I'd like to meet:

Amy MacDonald
Old friends, new friends, and networking partners! I'm not on this site to meet men, thank you, but, no thank you.

MY FRIENDS MEAN THE WORLD TO ME! THANKS FOR MAKING THIS YEAR SUCH A BLAST!

I love being Nickolau's Tia.

Music:

I love Bob Dylan, when I listen to his music I feel alive. Nelly Furtado is almost like a guilty pleasure. I often feel out of the loop when it comes to contemporary music but I really like The Killers and The White Stripes. I have lately been exploring the world of Rock en Espanol. Jazz. I enjoy punk cover songs especially covers of 80's pop hits. I find most Pop music cheesy, and I hate sentimental love songs. The music's got to be real and have a message, or pump me up when I want to party.

Movies:

Reality Bites, I met Janene Garofalo on a plane, she rocks. I'm a sucker for coming of age/high school flicks. Foreign films. And a good comedy, most recently: Knocked Up, hillarious.

Television:

I never seem to be home to watch TV, but often I catch a few minutes of CNN, and more recently browsing through the channels in the UK from my hotels.

Books:

Travel books, i.e. "The Sex Lives of Cannibals," "Let's Go: Europe." Lately books on personal finance, so I can make the most of my salary, and prepare to retire someday. Newspapers from the U.S.A. and the U.K.

Heroes:

Queen Latifa.
