About Me

My Interests

..I'm a writer, who happens to be a Jedi Master in the art on Bullshitting (ie...Public Relations). Aside from working seemingly non-stop, at any given time I'm reading three or four different books, and I work out six days a week. Feeling healthy and happy is supremely important. Without it, you cannot enjoy the intricacies of life (or for that matter, be around long enough to enjoy it).

Music:

..Placebo, Muse, Ash, Travis, Turin Brakes, Rufus Wainwright, Kent, Bjork, Longwave, Damien Rice, Snowpatrol, Idlewild, Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley, Badly Drawn Boy, Pete Yorn, Ours, PaloAlto, Stellastarr*, The Stills, David Gray, The Verve, The Pixies, Supergrass, Elliott Smith, Sondre Lerche, The Postal Service, Ed Harcourt, Ambulance Ltd, Nada Surf, Tori Amos...and others of that sort, too many to name.

Movies:

..The Goonies...Empire Records...and Shrek....three movies I can quote in entirety, backward and forward.

Books:

..I don't have time for fiction, there's too much knowledge to acquire for nonsense. I primarily read Theology, business, history and biographies.

Heroes:

Heroes typically fade away, you should set your sights on Someone much Higher. However...
My dad: He's the most brilliant man alive. He never ceases to amaze me. If I can be half as intelligent, half as successful and half as Godly as he is, I will have something huge to brag about. Until then, I humbly watch and learn.
Morgan: he gives me faith in myself when my cup runneth empty. Though calm and collected on the exterior, my inner truth cannot hide in his eyes, even when it's unknown to my own. I could never have survived this city without him.
Michael: My incredible cousin who recently joined the Marines, following suit of my grandfather and great-grandfather who were brave West Point Military men. I admire him for his courage and passion to be part of something larger than himself. And I admire his fellow servicemen and women who sacrifice their lives everyday for the good of the United States of America.

Into the Best Year Ever...thus Far

People always say you need to look forward and always tell yourself that this very moment is the best moment of your life.  Until the next moment, which in turn is your best. I truly wish I could...

Undervalued and Less than Appreciated

It's only Tuesday, and this week has been nothing but bitterness.  I hate harboring feelings of negativity, they only ruin the rest of the day.  It's hard not to be discouraged when you...

The Strange Tickle of Adulthood

It happens every once in a while, and when it does, it's like I'm experiencing an out of body moment, smiling down upon myself. I'm talking about those moments when you genuinely feel accomplished wit...

Grad School Progress...and the Paintings on the Wall

Since we're beyond the mid-semester mark, and we're rounding out toward the end of July, I figure it's time for an update.  To my astonishment, I've thus far kicked the pants off my classes....

My Latest Green Obsession

Green has always been my favorite color, but don't let the subject heading of the blog lead you astray -- I've not become a freakish environmentalist.  I'm too much of a capitalistic, patriotic, ...

Sudden Insignificance

The reality is that sudden insignificance only comes with loss or tragedy.  The realization that superficiality has come to dominate your world.  Does any of it really matter?  The typ...

The Plan May go to the Birds

I'm back to my super uber obsessive planning in life.  I gave it up for a moment in time, but I think it's most definitely back...in high gear. As if planning a wedding isn't enough -- by the way...
