Quotes I like:
"No discipline (in this sense that Im speaking, discipline of the body with health and nutrition) seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees." Hebrews 12: 11-12
"I am a Christian who happens to be an athlete, not an athlete that happens to be a Christian."
"Self respect is the fruit of discipline."
"The price of excellence is discipline, the cost of mediocrity is disappointment."
Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew {their} strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; {and} they shall walk, and not faint."
"Defile not your body, for it is the temple of the Holy Spirit."-The Essence Gospel of Health and Peace.
"This is your life. If you are not who you want to be, change it! It won’t be easy and it may take some time, but surround yourself with people who love and support you and go for it! No regrets! Only YOU dwell on your failures. Good luck and remember the inner strength you’ll achieve from adopting a healthy lifestyle, far supersedes anything physical."-Jamie Eason
“Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.” -John Wooden.
"Thought + faith + hard work = results!"
Im a Certified Personal Trainer and I love it, I am blessed to own my own business called Nu-U Fitness (www.nu-ufitness.com).
A little question and answer:
How I Started Gettin my body into shape:
Well, honestly I had an eating disorder for about 2 1/2 years and decided one day after praying and searching within that it was not healthy and I needed to fix it. I started working with a trainer my first year of college and was hooked!
Why I Love It:
The main reason is because I am taking care of God's temple that He created for me and it is challengeing, and I like a good challenge. Plus I love to see the awesome results and self confidence that come with working out and reaching my goals.
How I Stay Motivated:
By seeing the changes that are happening with my self as I progress through my training.
Memoriable Accomplishments:
Leg pressing over 500lbs! It was a challenge but it is MIND OVER MATTER! Placing 6th out of 11 in my first FAME Swimsuit Competition!
Physical Goal as of now:
To gain muscle and define that muscle
Personal Goal:
I honestly want to inspire those that are having difficulties with eating disorders and their self image, because I know what that feels like, I have been there. And if you have someone you can look up to that has been through what you have been through then it makes it a little easier. I want to be here for those that need a shoulder to lean on and for the right direction and guidance because I never had "that someone" to help guide me and I took a couple of really bad turns and got very lost. Remember, God loves you and your body is His temple. Keep it healthy and strong because that is how He intended it to be. But also to help those in need, and to help the San Antonio community and all those that I meet in their endevours into fitness and the word of God.
