David ’Real Live Rocker’

Hello,My name is David. Born in 1974 as the most beautiful baby in the world (so my parents said...). Ever since I was a little boy, music dominated my life. I’ve gone to the music-academy starting at the age of 8. My first instrument was the piano. At the age of 17 I learned to play the bass. I was intriged by the sound of the bass. And with my background as a pianoplayer, it was much easier for me to create nice basslines. Not more than a half year later, I joined my first band "Guernica", in wich I played for about 8-9 years. In 1999 Guernica played its last gig. I’ve tried to start all over in 2 bands, but it didn’t feel right. For me the time had come to let the music a little behind. So I sold everything I had, except for my keyboard. The years that followed music was still very important to me, but I had not much energy left to start a band from scratch. I just continued to compose some music on my own. But in July 2006, my life changed dramatically (in a positive way). One day I received a call from my brother-in-law (a very good drummer) to ask me what I’d feel to play in a band, together with him and 2 guitarplayers he met recently. At first he couldn’t convince me, but after I’ve heard the sound of the 2 guitarplayers, my fingers started to itch (to play the bass again) and I decided to give it a try. We soon found the perfect female singer and we called the new band "U-turn". Untill today I am the bassplayer of U-turn. A band built from scratch, with a beautiful woman behind the mic and with the typical U-turn sound ;) And for now, all that counts is U-turn. Beside that, I started to learn the world of studiorecording a little bit. I’ve built a little recordingstudio at my house. Soon, it will be finished. Then, we can start recording.... Beside playing the bass, my favorite instrument still is the piano - keyboard. Another instrument I want to learn to play soon, is the guitar. And it will happen soon... MUSIC IS IN THE HEART, WITH THE BEAT OF THE DRUM
