About Me

Hmmmm...this is a tough one. I've been involved in the punk scene for the past twenty years. I used to sing for Spitboy and for a litte while with Aus Rotten and loved both experiences. I used to write a regular column for Maximum Rock n Roll and Slug & Lettuce, but now I spend my time contributing to Profane Existence. I recently published a fanzine called "Norton (Unleashed)" about my dog Norton, animal rights, and vegetarian/vegan issues (I'm veggie). Contact me if you'd like a copy! I'm also really focused on getting tons of tattoos lately...Hector at Tattoo 13 is the best! So, that scratches the surface a little bit.

My Interests

I am infinitely fascinated by my dog Norton, totally interested in reading and movies, love to write, and feel that life is totally pure and incredible when I'm racing through the streets of Oakland late at nite on my neon green beach cruiser. I love to sing, but only when I'm driving. I love to smoke, but I'm definitely quitting.

I'd like to meet:

You.

Music:

Devotchka, Old Crow Medicine Show, Low, Etta James, Justin Timberlake, Iron & Wine, Sifle & Oli, Miles Davis, Tegan & Sara, Willie Nelson, Brokeback Mountain soundtrack, Garden State soundtrack...that scratches the surfaces.

Movies:

Brokeback Mountain, Fight club, Whalerider, 13 Going On Awesome, Half Nelson, Amelie, Serenity, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Kill Bill Vol.1, Bring It On, Milo & Otis, District B13, Donnie Darko, Tigerland, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Secretary, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior. Plus everything in between!! I love movies.

Television:

The only TV I've ever really watched is The X Files and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Everything else is pretty much mind rot. I own a TV so's I can watch movies, but I keep it in the closet and I don't have cable so there's no TV shrine in my apartment.

Books:

I read everything. Okay, not romance novels, but everything else. The last five books I've read are: A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (Betty Smith), The Black Dahlia (James Elroy), The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini), The Notebook (Nicholas Sparks), and John Steinbeck: The California Years (Brian St. Pierre). I love lazy Sundays reading with the windows open and a fresh breeze coming through drinking tea. Good times.

Heroes:

My friends are my heroes. I am constantly in awe of just how incredible the people in my life are and just how much I adore them. My dog Norton is my hero. She's been through eye problems, throat surgery, and is terminally ill and yet still faces each day with a wag of her tail and still dances around for treats. She's a champion.

My Blog

Boxing

When I lived in New York City I almost got slashed in the face on a subway train when I was coming home from work. That experience fucked with my head badly because I felt so powerless to do anything....

Justin Motherfucking Timberlake

I just got home from Justin Timberlake and he was AMAZING. There was an elaborate stage with pieces that moved and folks disappearing into the stage, there was a laser show, there was a smoke machine,...
