Chew Toy is a three piece core, 4+ piece live act. They enjoy the finer things in life, the simple things. Making music for no one 'cept themselves being one of the afformentioned "finer/simple things". Many people seem to think that Chew Toy's music is keen, similar to many things yet unlike any. The real details about Chew Toy are shrouded in mystery, tucked away in some hooded sweatshirt, or torn jeans. Not store or factory torn, but life torn, much like Chew Toy itself. Personally knowing Chew Toy means that you are one of 12 or so - congratulations.The oats of chew toy were sewn back in the year 2000 when founding members Justin Georges, MarQ, and Josh Fink embarked themselves on a journey of sound, as well as the magical world of puppeteering, in a band known as Obvious Boner. Included in the "Bone", was a fellow by the name of Joel Veach A.K.A. "J-Sukka", whom claimed his fame later as one of the founding members of hip-hip pioneers, as well as avid fishermen, the "Hancock Hustlaz".
In late 2000, OB parted ways. The main reasons behind the disbanding were not of drug use, egos, or artistic differences, but with air freshener preference i.e. fresh meadow vs. country breeze. However, the members of OB did keep in touch and reconciled their differences enough to collaborate on the aforemetioned hip-hop project the Hancock Hustlaz.Chew Toy officialy started in late 2003 when Georges, Fink, and MarQ, picked up their instruments, dusted them off, plugged them in... only to take them off again in a few minutes to watch "The Sopranos" and eat hot dogs. To the delight of ears everywhere they did finally put them back on though.Prior to 2005, "the chews" engaged themselves in a number of side-projects and collaborations, including: Ivan or Nate; The Tex Pistols; Liquid children; The Crotch-Rockets; The Costanza Bros.; and somehow still found time to be the backing band for one Jerod Wayne.The departure of Jerod Wayne and 2007 sent Chew Toy in a new direction. The core was still intact, and the groundwork had been laid. MarQ got a new lease on life under the scalpel, and Ultrante started playing the parts that were left vacant, instilling some fresh ideas into songs that were previously 3 piece perfection. He played his first show with Chew Toy, as well as Chew Toy's first show of the new year on February 2nd.So remains Chew Toy.
